App good-ish, but not user friendly
There was a lot of work put into this app.
But unfortunately, not so much thought or work on the end users, for example,
the intercom displays that is with this app at the doors.
My home, Optima, feels like we’ve been involuntarily used as a test group for almost 2years now. Ugh.
Why would you put a QR code to scan in a basement where there is little to no 3G/4G/5G coverage?
But especially when, you’re not meant to scan this QR code at all, but somehow supposed to know to only press the touchscreen to prompt up a different display that asks for a PIN CODE to enter.
Ah, but there is no PIN CODE as such,
the PIN CODE is your phone number that you registered with at the guardhouse, but if that’s lost on you as a random visitor that is where you’ll call residents which will need to verbally explain this repeatedly or they just mark the delivery as no access.
You can imagine that this isn’t ideal.
It’s not what you would expect if there’s a flashy touch screen with an app at your condo.
What kind of high tech system with a display needs to have notes pasted up around it to explain it?!
It sort of defeats the whole purpose of having it.
It’s been a journey having this intercom system.
A journey of angry and frustrated delivery guys, a journey of running to the basement to open because they don’t want to hear it, they don’t care after that point they only demand you either come down or I’ll leave. It’s not very nice.
I cannot recommend it.
It’s just not yet all the way there of what this needs to be. Hm. Fix it?
Caution, serious access issues for deliveries
This is an intercom system that I am sure works for some and for some it doesn’t.
You’ll need to have good coverage of 3G/4G in the place where your intercom is installed.
Is it installed, let’s say, in a basement where some, if not all, doesn’t get sufficient 3G/4G to be able to interact with the QR screen and to prompt the access instructions.
You’ll find yourself running down to open for deliveries more than you’d care for, and in some instances, not receive deliveries at all due to them being unable to access your building.
Most people who makes deliveries seem to gain access because someone else was leaving or arriving that had an access key, who will then take pity on them and let them inside.
All this access stuff is more complicated than it needs to be.
Very very frustrating.
I don’t see any changes in our immediate future that would resolve these issues, so it’s just exhausting knowing we’re stuck with this poor set up now.
The app itself has some useful interaction options for neighbors and getting in touch with management, but we had emails before and we had facebook before, so doesn’t really provide any new services, just another app to clutter your phone (since it’s not working with what it needs to do!)
The app is also cluttered with commercials/ads, it’s just a lot.
Whoever decided to install this for our condo, I am sorry, but it wasn’t a good idea.
It’s only been inconvenient for my family & if we move to a different condo, I’ll ask if they have icondo or are planning to install it.
Not impressed
Perhaps I might find value in this app when I’m finally registered with my building - but so far it has wrangled me into purchasing an iCloud subscription so I could upload a PDF copy of my tenancy agreement to iCloud Drive and then upload it to the iCondo system through my phone - because apparently there’s no other way to do this. I’ve essentially just paid for something I don’t need for an app I wouldn’t want anyway if my building didn’t use iCondo. Seems ridiculous.
Great community app
Very easy to use and offer great update about what’s happening in the building as well as local news.
The look of the app is one of the better one I have seen for a building app. Is clear and functional.
Cannot even register my tenancy
Horrendously clunky registration process.
You’re supposed to “leave the app open while waiting for building manager to approve”.
What?! Is this the developer’s first school programming project?
Clearly no thought has been placed in basic usability, probably less thought in security. Be very careful with sensitive data on this app.
At time of writing six reviews give 5/5.
Never has a bunch of glowing reviews seemed more sus given how obviously bad this app is.
Great App!
I use this app in my apartment in Australia. I love the deposit function the most, it is real efficient.
