HRV guided athletic training

Veröffentlicht von: HRV Fit

Beschreibung

An excellent tool for gauging workout intensity... Probably the closest thing we have to a broad indication of overall health - The Telegraph
Know when to train, how hard to train & when to rest in order to optimise health, fitness and athletic performance.
A 60 second measurement each morning will tell you how stressed, recovered and ready for training your body is. Using heart rate variability (HRV), resting heart rate and recovery enablers, such as stress, diet, sleep, and more, ithlete delivers a truly personalised training recommendation that anyone from a recreational runner to an Olympic athlete can use.
The many benefits of having this information (quite literally) at your fingertips include:
• Make the most of every training session
• Manage recovery
• Optimise fitness
• Enjoy guilt free rest days
• Avoid overtraining & injury
• Balance workouts and lifestyle demands
• Improve health, fitness and performance
Getting the right balance between training and recovery is a challenge, even for experienced athletes. Remove the need for guess work by using ithlete and base your training on an objective measure of fatigue and recovery. You will reap the benefits in fitness and performance.
HOW IT WORKS
Heart rate variability is a proven window into the body’s nervous system, going beyond a simple resting heart rate (RHR) measure. Training is all about stress and recovery and a hard session will lower your HRV score. By using ithlete to monitor training stress you can adjust sessions according to your body’s current readiness to train, improve and perform.
Simply take a 1-minute measurement every morning and follow the colour coded training recommendation: train as normal, train light or take a rest day. For more about heart rate variability see www.myithlete.com/what-is-hrv

PLEASE NOTE:
The ithlete HRV app requires additional hardware.
Users will need either an ithlete Finger Sensor OR a compatible analog or Bluetooth Smart HRM strap. These are all available from www.myithlete.com/products. Please see the website FAQs for a full list of compatible models and purchasing options.
Please also note that this HRV app is NOT a heart rate monitor app, which people use during exercise. The ithlete app is an app that uses heart rate variability to indicate your state of fatigue, recovery and readiness to train following a 1 minute morning measure, and it is not used during the actual exercise.

Easy to use

Simple and effective way to test and track your HRV in 60 secs

Obsolete app

OmstunGonk on

Any app that hasn’t been improved /upgraded in over 3 years is one that should be avoided. Is there even a roadmap for a new product? The original idea and implementation was sound. Shame.

Great when it works

Eavostick on

Have experienced issues taking successful readings - using finger scanner on an iPhone. Issues often after apple software upgrades meaning a full 60 second measurement period cannot be completed. Seems to be working again end of Feb 24. I stopped using it from Dec 23 until Feb 24 due to the issues. It was the auto payment renewal that prompted me to try again recently.

CAUTION: Does Not Work

bt2u on

Most of the positive reviews are from 4/5 years ago, however the most recent review earlier this year complained the app did not work. I also could not get the app working using a finger sensor or heart rate monitor and I tried the app with an iPad and an iPhone. I’ve sent a support ticket to iThlete and I’ll update this review once I’ve had a response.

Temperamental device

Strawberry George on

Vereinigtes Königreich

The device rarely works first time and I can waste 10 mins getting it to take a reading. This means I don’t trust the readings. There’s no guidance on what the app questions mean. It asks if you have a good diet? How is that defined? It also doesn’t show you comparators for age and gender so you can’t see how far in or out of normal range you are. And it wasn’t clear that as well as buying the device you’d need to buy the app.

No support for Corsense Finger Sensor

Alavana on

Vereinigtes Königreich

Nice app but unfortunately this is not compatible with Corsense Bluetooth Finger Sensor. It will see the sensor and begin recording, but just over halfway it says “signal lost” and this happens every single time I’ve tried it. If you’re the developer of this app, please consider adding the Corsense finger sensor BLE. Thanks.

Not sure

Frustrated-100 on

I use three hrv apps including this one. Ocompared to the other two, this one is the least useful. It is a number without context. Ok, it is possible to compare it to previous days but it is essentially just a number and that is it. Waste of time really.

Ithlete

Chrisonskye on

Vereinigtes Königreich

I have been using Ithlete every morning for several years now. I like having a dependable measure of my recovery status. The readings always seem to tally with how I am feeling. Strongly recommended for really active folk.

Basic version clear to use

NinjaGnome on

Vereinigtes Königreich

Have been using for about two weeks; find the sensor to be fussy if in direct sunlight. The app works as an excellent “gut check” and has helped me not to push my luck with consecutive hard training sessions.
