Sorry if my English is bad, but I'll do my best I been using this apps for past 2 weeks, guess I'll post the pros and the cons I mainly used this apps to test and improve my japanses skill, it's dose have all JLPT and 先生 level Pros 1- word reading kanji : so far this is the best feature of this apps, when this apps ask you choose which word reading is correct, it's give you the same hiragana but with different syllable, like the word 不便 which gives me the 4 choose of ふべん、ぶへん、ぶぺん、ふへん・which is nice unlike the other apps 2- is great tool for testing yourself, since the flash card keep coming and never end, you can push yourself to the limit. 4- 5 colour scouring system, you can easy keep track of your scour by looking at scouring screen Green bg mean that you answer correctly all the time on this kanji/words Light green bg mean that you answer correctly most of the time on this kanji/words White bg : you didn't try it yet orange bg: you answered both correctly and wrong on this question. Red bg: wrong most or all the time Cons 1- as I said before, while this apps is good as tester, it's bad at teaching, this apps isn't a supplement of the old fashion study 2- is still a flash card study method, no sound or image just words 3- the kana study is weakest part of the apps 4- while it's can be turn off at the setting, I hated that flashing light 5- you can't limit yourself in chinese or japanses reading for a kanji, which is what I want the most I only give it 5 star due the pros which I was looking for Still room for improvement

it's really useful for me , and the size of the kanji is awesome & so clear :)

This app is great, but I wish there was a mode that allows the user to type in the answer for the reading mode. This is much more challenging than multiple choice.

This is my first written review. I’m writing it because this is a phenomenal app and I want to support it! If you are learning Japanese kanji, the key strokes are essential for writing and understanding. Not only can you practice strokes for kanji on this app, it has multiple levels of drills aligned to the Japanese language test levels that keep track of where you are in your learning that can sync across all of your devices. I practice on my phone and iPad whenever I have a moment. Even 10 minutes a day and you will see soooo much improvement! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

This app crashes every time I launch it.

probably the best flashcard program specifically for learning japanese both in terms of ease of use and user freedom. the dev also doesn’t try to nickle and dime you or use any cancerous ‘freemium’ design patterns which is enough of a rarity these days that it is worth pointing out and applauding. i’d like to give this a 5 star review but currently one of the best features, the ability to quickly create custom kanji & vocab sets seems to be broken and has been for some time and i am under the impression the developer has moved on from this project for all intents and purposes

-KanjiBox is great…when it’s working. -Has crashed for at least three months already in 2023. -I sent crash report to developers but they did not fix anything (although they did reply). -Also crashed for several month a few years ago (around 2020 I believe).

Really great app. No frills but solid functionality. It allows you to drill kanji, vocab, readings, etc. A nice surprise for me has been the KanjiDraw add-on. Forcing yourself to recall (rather than just recognize) kanji really reinforces the learnings. You’re forced to notice minute details between kanji as well as the actual radicals and components themselves. And the writing hints decrease as you get a kanji repeatedly right. Only thing I wish is that the kanji were also natively grouped by grade level rather than just JLPT level. I would love to be able to learn a set of kanji by each grade level without having to create a custom set. There doesn’t seem to be any shared sets that group them like this either.

This app may not have all the flash and pizazz of a more polished app, but it covers everything I needed to pass both N3 and N2 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test. That makes it perfect!

Kanji box is the best all round program I have seen.
