The La Marzocco Home Mobile App connects the home machine and the home barista in ways never before possible. When using the app, the phone becomes a new display for the machine. This display makes it easier and more intuitive to adjust the machines parameters such as temperature and pre-brewing. Moreover, thanks to the app, the smartphone can be used as a remote control for the machine. For Linea Mini, Linea Micra and the Gs3 the app features are: in local connection the possibility to schedule weekly scheduling of On/Off times and in remote connection the possibility of turning it On and switching it Off. Thanks to these features, the machine will always be hot and ready, whenever, without wasting energy or time. The Mobile App’s control panel for the Linea Mini and Gs3 gives the user a real-time feedback over use. not user friendly no value added app
What is the point to login EVERYTIME? given it is just HOME use, not sth Confidential app, right?
the more frustrated is, once u got logon, it is unble to connect yr linea mini , can I pass the updates? I just wanna adjust the temperature...
Brew boiler over pressure & steam boiler off
Do not update to this firmware on GS3.
My machine was perfect prior to firmware update.
After the update, even with steam boiler selected on in the app, the steam boiler was at 0 pressure and brew boiler suddenly would register 3-4 bar extra from standard, normal setting.
A headache to liaise with LM customer service and eventually with the local distributor. Local distributor do not know what the problem is, since La Marzocco are not aware of any issues arising from the firmware.
So La Marzocco (LM) will hand you off to the local distributor to fix your machine, and they don’t really know what the root cause is. They will ask LM for maintenance guidance, of which there currently is none. They can “fix” some of the issues but the machine will no longer be perfect.
LM will insist the firmware cannot cause hardware problems, despite the firmware having capabilities to change every single setting in the machine. For example, the app defaulted my machine language it Italian, and brew boiler off. I am unsure if any other settings were modified (ie PID). The technician said PID modifications can have fundamental changes to machine operation.
Anyhow, the technicians came in two days in a row to fix my machine. First day it appeared fixed, only for the issue to arise again on the subsequent day. Steam boiler pressure not coming up fully, and brew boiler over pressure issues persisted.
Check the La Marzocco GS3 owner Facebook Group. You’ll see many people having the exact same problems. And these are only the ones being vocal about it.
Long story short. Firmware likely causes hardware problems. LM can’t see that being a reality. Local distributor have limited to no guidance on how to fix the root problem, and can only manage (NOT FIX) the symptoms. Strong advice not to upgrade firmware. The only benefit is for people will plumbed-in water supply anyhow (pre infusion ability included in updated app).
Useful and user friendly but unstable
Generally a very intuitive and useful app.
However, it requires me to log in again every time I reopen the app or restart the machine and The app tries to get way too much personal info out of one: Age, hobbies, gender..
None of your business, La Marzocco!
Most annoyingly, the app cannot connect to the machine every time WIFI, machine and app has been off overnight so I need to restart the setting up process again. That’s a serious bug that needs fixing! I’m running an iPhone XS MAX on 13.4.1. Apps are up to date
Can’t access features after update
I updated to the latest firmware but can’t use some of the features like setting up a schedule. The option is not available for me because it says I need to update to the latest firmware. The information page says I am on the latest firmware with no option to update to anything newer so I’m now in limbo between the app thinking I’m on an old firmware while also telling me I’m on the latest.

צוות התכנות כל כך גרוע. בקשתי כבר שנתיים:
1. יום ראשון עבור חלק מהמשתמשים הוא היום הראשון בשבוע. אין דרך לקבוע זאת באפליקציה ויום ראשון מוצג בתחתית.
2 השינוי שבוצע להדלקה וכיבוי מראש כל כך טיפשי ולא נותן כלום שכן תכלס אתה יכל לתכנת רק תוכנית אחת שכן כל עוד יש חפיפה בימים בין התוכניות זה לא מתאפשר. וזה במקום שיהיה אפשר לתכנת כל מה שאתה רוצה ורק להפעיל אחת מהם. כל כך טפשי.
3. בגרסה הקודמת לא ניתן היה להפעיל את יום שני בתוכנית מראש מבלי לסמן גם את יום ראשון. לא יודע אם פתרו זאת.

Very Cloud (🤡) dependent
Being the exclusive app for interfacing with or controlling one of their machines, and that both phone and machine could communicate directly (Bluetooth), it’s super frustrating that this nearly completely depends on reaching random servers out on the internet to do things like reconfigure the machine’s schedule.
If only they’d provide a local webUI for configuring the machine. I’m perfectly able to search their (odd) website and the general internet for support & info, tho this seems to be a significant function of this app.
And all this is beside the fact that they’re not terribly forthcoming about the specific ports the machine needs to reach on which internet hosts, and for what purposes. (I’ve tried asking many times.)

Recent update broke Auto On/Off
Best feature of the machine is being able to set up a schedule for your machine to turn on and off but now it’s broken. There’s no update available even though one was released recently. Ugh.
Great Linea Micra Terrible App
I frequently do not have connectivity between the App and my Linea Micra. And when it does connect, the shot timer function rarely works. The shot timer either won’t start or will stop in the middle of a shot. Sometimes it starts over in the middle of a shot. Way too many glitches for an espresso machine of this caliber. But the coffee is fabulous!
