LE03 | AudioTune + AUv3

1st thing the program said after I downloaded and started it was “Connect WIRED headphones, preferably.” This is on an iPAD pro with only Bluetooth and NO wired headphone socket !

If used as an AUv3 in GarageBand the settings are universal for all projects. For example, if I choose custom tune of C E and G on a track, not only will this be the same for all tracks in that project, it is the same for all of my GarageBand projects! Also, as far as I can tell, “amount” and “speed” revert to maximum whenever you save a project (although the GUI does save the position of the dials so it looks correct it doesn’t sound correct). It’s as if they only tested this as a standalone app. I sent a message via the support link in the app about this a month ago and didn’t even get an acknowledgment, so sorry, I feel I need to warn others to avoid this as it is broken.

This app doesn’t produce much better results than the standard auto tune within GarageBand. Bit underwhelmed to be honest. Couldn’t even see a way to import sound files to it.

This sounds great in theory but in practice it doesn’t appear in my AUv3 menu in Cubasis3 or GarageBand so it’s essentially useless right now. Am I doing something wrong? Emailed developers so we’ll see if I get a reply. Update 16/7/20 - All good now. Developer responded and, after rebooting my devices, the app is working fine and I’m enjoying it. Very simple UI, clean design and effective pitch correction. Time to get creative!

What higher praise could you have?

Audiokit have done it again. Low cost and high function. Everything they release is worth putting in your arsenal!

I couldn’t work out why it wasn’t available as an ‘audio unit’ or ‘inter app audio’ function on GarageBand but this is even simpler then that! Just open the app, choose the settings and then leave the app running in the back ground while you use GarageBand normally and it will do the job. Awesome for vocals :)

With this, you can almost emulate what Cher had done for her voice on ‘Believe.’ Happily, no surgery is required, and the financial outlay is minimal. It’s another quality release from out friends at AudioKit, useful and fun. Nic
