Lightning DS

I have been using this for years with my Aries Mini. That is a 500 euro device so probably my expectations are a bit lower than of someone who forked out a couple of thousand for a high end Auralic. I think the app is pretty ok, I think I prefer it to DS Audio that comes with my Synology NAS. One thing that is weird with Lightning DS is the search function. Sometimes the search only shows the option to search radio stations and refuses to search my own music collection. Then I quit the app and the option magically re-appears. The other thing I wish for is a way to better store artwork, liner notes and PDF booklets along side albums.

For those users that own the Auralic hardware, this is a reasonable Roon replacement. I’ve been using this tool for a few months and it works really well.

Too long this app has not been properly updated. Always these small bug fixes but no improvements. UX is from 2015 and this is not acceptable anymore for a device that cost more than 3000 euro. Xianqian, please step up as this is very mediocre

Since last update I cannot listen music anymore via this app. In general the app is slow and not very user friendly.

The app crashes on both my iPad and iPhone since the update.

The Altair g2.1 sounds fantastic playing from Qobuz, unfortunately I need to use this app to bridge from Qobuz to the Altair. This app is buggy, not correctly synchronizes my playlists from Qobuz, not able to properly create, edit and maintain playlists, look back in my play history, manage my favourites and many more basic functions.

The app is very good when it’s working which it ceased to do. My iPhone 13 (ios 15.6) and my iPad Pro 2017 (ipados 15.6) can no longer connect to the Aries G1 (firmware 8.4). On an iPad Pro 2020 and iPhone SE 2020 it’s working fine. Please address this issue.

App crashes direct on iPhone 13 (iOS 15.4). Sometimes it wil start but doesn’t find the streamer. In iPad no problems.

Is there a possibility to add the function of sorting your albums and songs by “date added”? Really would improve things a lot for me.

Ik heb de auralic altair nu een paar jaar in huis en geniet van de geluidskwaliteit..alleen de app sluit constant af of wil gewoon niet opstarten. Dacht eerst nog dat het aan mijn wat verouderde iPad lag maar ik heb nu precies hetzelfde met mijn nieuwe iPad. Ik heb uit pure frustratie maar Roon aangeschaft die het wel goed blijft doen alleen mis je dan wel de filters die de streamer zijn karakteristieke geluid geven.
