Have enjoyed the app so far. Definitely assumes some prior knowledge. Learnt words are sporadic (numbers are not learnt in order). A recommendation would be to have an option to select the gender of the native speaker as we are learning “I am/have etc etc” but “I” is gender specific in Thai and is constantly referred to in the female sense “Chan” during lessons. This just makes it more difficult for a male student.
I used the Ling app at first because I was travelling to Thailand but this app makes it fun and enjoyable but is also extremely useful so even when I came back from Thailand I continued to learn Thai and now I have moved up at least two levels in class
I tried using the app on my iphone but unfortunately the scroll function doesn’t work on certain questions so I was unable to complete the lesson. Hopefully this user interface issue is resolved in the future. Otherwise I think this would be a pretty good app.
Hi guys. I’m planning to go Thailand soon and am trying to learn more Thai. However, there’s a bug or glitch in the app that doesn’t allow me to scroll down when I’m learning a lesson and it requires me to select an answer out of multiple options. Any way to fix this? Thanks!
The only good comprehensive Thai language learning app I’ve found. Native Thai from the ground up, not fitting the language into an existing format.
Traditional Chinese (Mandarin) is used in Taiwan and Taiwan is not part of China. The app wrongly put the flag of China in front of traditional Chinese.

No complaints, the only good app for learning Thai.
While app is not perfect and shouldn’t be the only source but a supplementary you rely if you want fluency, Ling definitely a useful app if you’re starting a language that is fun , well structured and relatively short lessons that you’ll learn a lot of vocabulary from, it’s gamified like Duolingo but for me it’s way better than Duolingo especially their new interface and offer a lot of languages too, granted this app isn’t free compared to Duolingo but still worth investing Ling
I paid for a years subscription and its been a great alternative to duolingo. It uses the same learning mechanics. The look and feel is similar. So as far as learning a language goes, it does the job. But the rest of the app feels unfinished. Profile aspect, your achievements, your fluency, all the ‘stats’ that gamify the whole experience are pretty trash. It bears little weight to actually learning a language, but does add to the whole experience and for Ling at the moment its lacking. Feels about 85% cooked with some really easy bug improvements that would make the app just more polished.
