This app was created by people who understand the challenges you face when learning a foreign language. And even when you think about taking a break, you will be politely reminded that it is too early to relax your buns. I am learning English and Swedish simultaneously with LingQ and I can say that this app is my favorite.

Based on modern L2 learning theories, LingQ is better than any curriculum I’ve ever encountered. Despite not having had any school lessons in Germans for years, my German is better than ever. I’ve also started to learn Chinese from scratch, an am continually amazed at the progress I’m making. For a 5 star review, I think importing videos from sources such as ZDF needs improvement. I want LingQ to be the hub of my language journeys! It’s great already, but still has much more potential!
I truly feel like I learn while using this app. Havi g it not be gamified does a lot for improving my learning and while I’m very new, I already see some progress shile learning croatian. The UI is quite bad at times and the UX could improve. I would appreciate some better handling of the translations. It’s really mainly taken from google translate from what I can see, and you have to rely on the community to set you right at times. Since this is a word-based language learning app, it’s a bit rough that this isn’t better. I would recommend this app, it has its flaws, but it’ll teach you, just maybe a bit slower than it could.
I think LingQ has found the key to making language learning fun and easily worked into a daily routine. The amount of exposure I can get with this single app is immense, without it ever feeling boring. With that said I do think there is some work yet to be done on the interface to get it as user friendly as it could be. There are also some bugs in the audio player, auto-lingq function and the reader that could use a makeover. If you are new to LingQ, there is a bit of a learning curve, but just hang in there. I really enjoy the process and feel that I am learning so much more than my previous app Duo….. I like the different lesson options and find some of the podcasts very helpful. What I find ironic is, Steve was born in Sweden and grew up in Canada and I was born and raised in Canada and am now living in Sweden. Love the program and the support.
There is no doubt that LingQ is the most effective app to use to supplement your language learning journey. LingQ provides plenty of content for reading and listening in your target language but what separates LingQ is the user’s ability to import any content they would like to study. Input demands variety and LingQ masterfully accomplishes variety on the users terms. Give it a try, there are plenty of resources to help you navigate the app as it may be overwhelming in the beginning.
