It'd be kind of necessary that in order for you to learn a word, you're first told what it is, when I clicked on learn I expected to do that first instead of randomly asking questions until I associated things with something. For small collections this might work, but, I wanted to add some of the words I didn't understand from a book, and I'd like to be shown first what it means, then queried, only the first time, or only when I make a mistake is fine. THis is very important.

I love the app and word of the day widget, I use it on all my Apple devices to learn new vocab on the daily. Keep up the great work.

It holds at the welcome screen, running a kind of preloader and after few minutes crush. Same on iPhone 5S, iPad mini and iPod 5th Gen.

I’ve never used a dictionary on my phone, but Look Up now gets daily use! The app functions perfectly and I have never run into a single bug in all my time of using it (~2yrs now, I had it back when it was a one time purchase). I came here just to give it a review after confirming the difference between two similar words (alternate vs alternative) & realized I hadn’t helped the app out after it’s helped me out so much. So cheers dev, thanks for a great app!

Yesterday, I emailed application support the following, which summarizes my like for the app and my suggestion for improvement (I hope they respond back, or at least consider my suggestion): Hello. For a long time now, I’ve been a big fan of your LookUp iOS app, which I most often use as a dictionary. I love the beautiful imagery in your app, as all the beautiful pictures in the app make your app more a pleasure to use as a dictionary, instead of just using a plain dictionary containing only words! 👍 May I make a suggestion that I think would improve the usability of your app, not just for myself but for others as well? Include links in the definitions to similar words. Let me explain: Today I looked up the word “admonition” in your app, and the noun meaning says “an act or action of admonishing”. Since I was not certain of what the word “admonish” means, I had to go back to the search bar in the app to search on the word “admonish”, to find its definition. Had there been a link to the word “admonish” in the definition section of the word “admonition”, I could have more easily tapped on such a link and been brought directly to the dictionary definition of the word “admonish”. I’ve noticed that my “word of the day” notification appears to be broken. I’ve gotten the same word, “mercantile” everyday for the past two weeks. Is there something going on with the app?
