I successfully used loop for 18 months. For app usage when setup working and reading smart meter I would score a 4-5 enjoying the informative way you can visualise your usage and identify potential usage issues. Much better than the smart meter itself. Unfortunately I can only now score a 1 for effort trying to set up with new provider. I changed energy supplier whom needed to fit a new smart meter. Since then the Energy company Fuse have tried tirelessly to work with Loop to get the new smart meter to work with Loop without success. Fuse even offered to swap the smart meter. Loop have ignored requests for help, put zero effort into working with Fuse to get it working constantly referring to the relevant authorities I should follow up with to get Fuse to do more. After fuse had tried many things to resolve themselves including reaching out to loop many times , they just needed to speak to a technical person identify the actual issue creating the problem. I even ended up following up with Loop myself and got told they couldn’t help as they were a free app and did not provide free technical advice. I can say Fuse have done everything they can to try and resolve this and I can highly recommend them as a energy supplier, while Loop have hidden behind anything they could to not put any effort into resolving very disappointed. Let’s hope others don’t get issues otherwise they won’t be any users in due course and the app however good will have less and less users which will be a shame. From my understanding I am not the only person with the problem. Customer service diabolical and at some point they will need to monetise. Maybe more users will be useful then.
Tried with 2 credit cards & my IHD. Does not recognise any of it and gives multiple errors. Don’t bother with it.
Great app for tracking use. Would be better if monthly data was shown in same column chart format as year week and day use. Seems to be more focused on electricity use and gas is a second fiddle…? Please can you provide monthly usage data in the same bar chart format as the other charts? The month display is almost useless
This is a great app. It enables me to track my energy use, both electric and gas, hourly, daily, monthly and annually. This helps me to identify where I can make savings. I had a problem where following a meter change the gas reading wouldn’t display. I contacted support (Gerry) who responded promptly and explained clearly how to resolve the issue. Highly recommended.
I’ve been using this app to monitor my energy usage via a smart meter for some time now without a problem. It’s easy to setup and use With easier and better options than the energy suppliers app. Recently I noticed that Loop had stopped recording energy use, I contacted the support team who couldn’t have been more helpful. The prompt response advised that after research they found out that my smart meter software was two levels out of date. This was the root cause of the issue and could be responsible for erroneous readings. I have since contact my supplier who are in the process of updating our smart meter … eventually. If not for loop this would have gone unnoticed. Highly recommend this app. Thanks.
This company has changed its mission countless times since I became a customer. Almost every year, the app discontinues some service but introduces a new ‘revolutionary’ one. Fine for the casual user, but if you’re serious about home energy monitoring there are simply better, more robust, accurate, and reliable solutions out there.
It’s really slow to get data. I don’t know why they don’t cache it locally. It is always logging you out too and each time it did that I ended up resetting my password which they have made an incredible pain. Today I was logged out again, but this time resetting my password was such a pain (I had to either add a payment card or do some nonsense with my smart meter to prove who I am even though I have been using the app for years) I just deleted the app. No real loss as using it used to annoy me so much because it was so slow and painful to use.
I wish there was a billing period view (on top of year/month/week/day).
No I do not want to enable notifications. You have to learn to accept my decision and stop nagging me to enable them.
