Rental
Another one time paid app that became a rental, with it removing what we paid for. And of course they shoved “ai” garbage in there for good measure solidifying the ensh*tification. Nice job.

Update: Pass2U or Passbook are probably better app choices for most of you out there. The AI integration in this app doesn’t do anything other than put the information into the correct blocks for you. Which if they had a template to see what you should actually put in each block, you wouldn’t need in the first place. I thought the AI was going to do something like cool Image art that matches the pass type. For example, I’m going to a Christmas market that requires a ticket, I thought the AI was going to put in a Christmas tree or something cool like that. But what I got was a gray boring looking ticket. I had a hard time figuring out how to use the app to be honest. I don’t know what all the various values/text field affect, on top of that, I don’t know what the various design features of the pass will affect. The developer might consider having a live preview (on iPad and macOS at least) that also highlights the area of the pass that is being edited when in the corresponding text field or UI area. Another app called Details Pro has this type of Live view for people to see their swift UI edits as they make them for app design. Finally, I subscribed to use MakePass UI only to learn the type of QR code that I was trying to make a pass for doesn’t work what so ever. So now I’m out 16$ without a use for the app unless the developer is able to add a feature allowing us to just add a png image of the QR code to the pass instead of the app having to read the code and create it itself 🤷♂️ This is why tutorials and in depth explanation of what works and doesn’t would be madly helpful for this technical app. Currently I don’t know how to rate it, I love the idea and the execution is close, however it’s just not perfect and I lost money as it won’t work for my situation. I can’t give it 5 or 4 because of this, I don’t want to give it 1 because I believe that’s harsh. I also don’t want to seem mean to the developer, I know he’s indie and the app overall will work for many I’m sure. I’ll give it a 2 but maybe consider changing to 3 if I’m able to get in touch with the developer or support and figure this out.
Don’t use anything else, and yes you can pay them it works.
Just bought a 16 buck subscription to have it create a wallet item that didn't actually show the PDF file I used to make the wallet item. The entire point of me getting this app is to put PDF files into my wallet. Super disappointed.
Great for thinning out your wallet!
I bought this hoping it would make creating Wallet passes easier (I had been using a nice app on my iPhone, but was looking for a slightly more automatic process. MakePass exceeds any expectation I might have had. It is beyiond easy & (I use the AI feature) results in perfect results almost instantly from images provided by event sponsers. This is one of the most satisfying app purchases I have made in many years!
This is hands-down the best app on my phone! I use it to organize all of my event tickets for all the shows I see. I've set it up with iOS Shortcuts so that I can tell Siri what time the show is and where I'm sitting, and it'll make the event pass for me. I'm so glad I bought this!!!!
Ultimately, I got what I needed , after making AI try again and again to guess what to do with screenshots of my tickets from Fabulous Fox Theatre in St. Louis. Sometimes, despite using the same screenshot, it’d miss something important on there, or put the event time in two places, sacrificing a bit of data such as the performer’s name. However, it can get things right enough that I’m impressed. I just make a couple modifications to the ticket (they leave spaces to fill in extra data it misses, and you can move things around). You can choose ticket background, label and foreground colors. Very cool! What you get is an easy-to-read ticket with a QR code, if it’s available. I’ve only used it with screenshots, but there are other ways to give it input, such as a photo, or just manually filling things in. Once it wasn’t consistent with the time format: on two tickets the time was displayed as 4:00 PM, and in the third it displayed as 16:00. I made AI guess again and then it got it the same as the others (4:00PM). I’m writing a lot of detail, but that doesn’t mean this app is complicated. I’ve tried probably four of these types of apps, and this one is by far the best. I will keep this one. Great job! Not perfect, but impressive and useful!
The app works well and is great, but it should be made clear that MakePass premium is required for literally everything.
This works great and is very easy although I do recommend getting the subscription. I ended up getting the $16 a year subscription because it gave me more features. This app works actually fantastically well and I found it very easy to use. Especially if you use the option New pass with AI. You can preview it before you add it to the Wallet app and if needed, you could add additional things.
