Manta: Cómics y mangas

I’ve been reading the content on this app with the subscription for maybe about 2-3 years now and I’ve seen this app improve in many ways. Both in its usability and content, it’s been about half(?) a year now since they first launched their new monetization in the form of gems. There are some titles and I believe all the novels are not included with subscription. At first, this didn’t bother me too much as they’re were only a few titles that were not included and I didn’t have much interest in the novels. But now it feels like 1/3rd of new titles coming out are not included and have to be purchased separately. I understand that the main reason for this is to bring in more content and that some of these titles aren’t from Manta but borrowed from other licenses. I appreciate Manta’s efforts but honestly, I rather go back to old Manta with less content but access to all of it. Yes, it felt bad that some titles left for a reason or things got canceled and left but hey at least I was able to read it. If you are going to pay for a subscription you should have access to all your content I know that’s possible. As a start, I think at the very least most if not all of the novels should be included in the subscription. In short yes the app is fine and has a decent library and I don’t believe that Manta is terrible as it seems that they have been rather transparent about their changes. But I would rather go back to old Manta.

It’s probably one of my favorites, I love that you can just pay a set price and unlock the webcomics.

Loved this app for the longest time because I could get unlimited reading of all titles with my monthly subscription! Too bad they got greedy and added the concept of “gems” that you have to buy in order to access certain titles now. Almost all of the new release titles are gems only at this point so once my free series all end I’ll probably end up deleting):

I used to really love reading the stories on here. I would wait at max a week for the next story to unlock and practically all episodes were free, however now I find that you cannot read a single episode without paying for a subscription. Now I’ve made the switch to WEBTOON, where the episodes are actually accessible. It’s a shame because I had to abandon all the stories I loved on this app.

I hate to beat a dead horse, but like many others this new gems system is incredibly disappointing. I loved manta cause it was one of the very very few webcomic apps that didn’t make you pay per episode. And at first this gem system didn’t bother me much since none of my current stories were affected. BUT THEN I saw that some stories I had already read were now under this system, meaning if I desired to read them again, I’d have to pay to read a story I’ve already read. It’s also irritating to me because more than needing gems to read chapters, I have to pay for them. If I’m already paying monthly or yearly just to have access to most of the stories on this app then what’s the point? Why not include gems in the subscription packages rather than making loyal subscribers pay extra to actually get the “unlimited” access they’ve already paid for. Overall no matter the reason for the change it’s just sad cause now this app is just like all the others. At least with other apps I’m only paying for coins or tokens and not a subscription on top of that. Edit: I’d also like to add that 50 gems will put you back $6. Most episodes will cost you 5 gems. So essentially you’re paying $6 for 10 episodes, when it used to be $4 monthly for full access. ALSO just realized you can only see 200 stories in the “saved stories” section. I was wondering why I wasn’t able to find stories that I had just added to my saved and why I would look for a story on the list and not find it, but when I went to the story itself the saved button was checked. This is a problem on the app and website. Very frustrating.

Was a great app for years but now they’re switching so not only do you need to pay for a subscription but you also need to buy gems to unlock chapters. I’m not paying $40 per story. At that point I’ll go buy real books and comics again

Honestly i used to love this app, one of my favorites due to the high quality translations, variety of stories, etc. I gladly paid the 5 dollar subscription. It was way better than the other sites that charged per chapter with no subscription available. And then they added the gem system. They added these gems on both the finished stories and the brand new ones. I’m already paying the subscription, why do i need to pay more? they don’t even make it super clear on which series you get for the subscription and which you need to pay individually for. I’d happily pay a higher subscription, 10-15 bucks even. unlimited stories without needing to constantly pull out my wallet. i see manta responding to other reviews saying that it’s to have a larger selection. in all honesty i don’t want a larger selection if it means i have to use the gem system! At this point it’s just greed on the apps side and i am incredibly disappointed and angry that manta decided to make this decision.

I’ve been seeing commercials, and not only do I like the selection, updates, and the trailers that Manta does…I also like the perks if you become a member. Even if I don’t have l all the diamonds for some comics there are others I can read fully, then are chapters that release given time. It’s always a thing, but I’d like to earn/mine more diamonds.

I’ve had manta for years and love the subscription but adding gems as another form to read your comics is insane. Yeah I noticed the subscription went down to 3.99 from the 4.99 doesn’t make it any better. The excuse of “so we can have access to more comics” is a weird thing to say when I also noticed you re added previous comics that were taken down now you have to pay for gems….sorry but I’m out.

App is fruity ngl, no tuff manwhas, they got the type of comics that females be reading cause they can’t get into a relationship
