I tried learning French for over a year. What a waste of my time. This is not the best way to learn a language. I learned more with 2 chapters of “learn French with Paul Noble” than a whole year of Memrise.
I like the app, its pretty simple and I love learning Portugal Portuguese, I definitely recommend.
I decided to start learning Spanish. I tried Duolingo, but I hated that if I made too many mistakes I couldn't practice anymore, and that I learned random things before important things. I looked for alternatives, and now, after one day of having this app, I can already have a basic conversation with my fluent friends
This was the easiest and most fun app ever and its educational
I just started learning and was pleased with the method until I got the section that spewed out swear words! Seriously?! Out of all the words and phrases that could be taught for useful communication when traveling, this app seems to think it’s important to teach offensive language. Too bad .
I tried Duolingo and I hated it because it was always pestering me and every time I got a question wrong, it would make me lose a heart. Bur Memrise allows me to get something wrong and redo it in the future. It lets me do a lot of things without the subscription so I can learn to the fullest.
I’ve been using Duolingo for over a week now (learning Korean) and there’s been no progress whatsoever, I know it’s not a lot of time but compared to Memrise, the difference is very noticeable. This is so much better and I feel like I’ll actually be able to learn Korean with this app!
Really good, I tend to pick things up fast, but this still went too fast for me.
My boyfriend is Chinese, he speaks english but I will be flying to China in a few months to meet his family..so I wanted to learn some Mandarin. I have tried other apps before but none worked, besides this one. The repetition and different videos of native speakers saying the words/sentences you are learning make it so much easier to pick up on! I like how there is also a literal translation feature. Example: Bye in chinese actually translates to “meet again”. Amazing app.
It’s OK. A bit cobbled together. It keeps telling me I have the German word for sport wrong. The German word for sport is “sport.” it keeps testing me on this over and over. 🤷 I use several language learning apps. This is definitely not among the best.
