The UX design for this app is the worse I have ever seen.

Test driving a man Evoque p300e plug-in hybrid. Never used a charge point before. Downloaded the app, entered payment details, followed instructions and it work perfectly. Quite surprised :o)

Seriously, how has it come to this? Presumably some actual humans developed this total train wreck. Why won’t it let you autocomplete anything ? Why does it ask for a ZIP code? Why does it wipe all info and bump you to the beginning every time it fails? Why doesn’t it accept Apple Pay? Why do we need to install a hundred different proprietary apps in a car park in the rain ? Why did this council choose THIS company over the hundred others? Why can’t they JUST ACCEPT CONTACTLESS PAYMENTS. Does EV ownership have to be this hard?

You want to charge your car. Ill skip moment that they are not aware that charge station can gave card reader - ok, Ill install app. When you get to the payment, you have to enter 150 fields of various information. While you do this, your connection to charger expires and you have reconnect. App got stuck. You kill it and start a new - and all data you entered get lost. I gave up after 10 minutes and will never use this network again. BTW. May be this will surprise - Apple had ApplePay feature - it let user not to enter his credit card data manually.

Takes card details then won’t allow charging even after multiple attempts with strong 4G connectivity. Waste of time, AVOID AND GO ELSEWHERE!!!!

Utterly useless. Couldn’t wait to delete it as soon as opened it. Weird, unintuitive design and incredibly unclear instructions on the charging point made it simply impossible to use. I registered, put my card details in, then when I attempted to pay at the machine it told me it was the wrong card. I’m baffled that in 2024, someone can develop such an inept and clearly flawed app and have the gumption to continue to attempt to provide a service

Omg where do I start? Downloaded app then during registration was told no internet. Ok so how did I download the app? After spending ages registering - both charging points were broken and helpdesk said nothing we can do as they can’t connect to them either!! Holy moly. EV charging is a joke!

Signed up to the app to start the charger as it says on the instructions on the charger machine but could not find the correct charger. Parked in one of the solar sheltered charging points but couldn’t find the charger from the list. The app has been badly designed and isn’t user friendly. The chargers are nicely designed around the car park but the app needs to be redesigned. Couldn’t charge my car after 10 minutes of playing around with the app I have gave up and parked in a normal bay. I do not recommend!

Here’s an idea. Instead of making people download pointless apps that don’t work, just let us tap a credit/debit card to start a charge. As if EV driving isn’t stressful enough to introduce another point of failure.

I thought I’d give this a try. The registration process was tedious and badly worded, but successful. I then tried to charge, and the app asked me to select “left” or “right”. Huh? Whose left or right, and facing which way? The charging ports are labelled “-1” and “-2”, so that didn’t help. I selected “left”. The app then went into a holding pattern, so I left the car plugged in and went to do my shopping. It didn’t charge - electricity or money. On the plus side I seem to have discovered a way to get free parking in central Guildford!
