Möbius Sync

Der Sync mit Applikationsordnern funktioniert hervorragend. Ich nutzt das um Obsidian Vaults mit dem NAS zu syncronisieren. Das NAS hat ein passendes Syncthing-Package. Läuft bisher hervorraged. Der Preis für die Pro Version ist absolut in Ordnung. Vor allem weil es kein Abo ist, sondern eine faire Einmalzahlung. Passt. Was fehlt? Der Test mit „externen Ordnern“ hat in der non-Pro Version nicht geklappt. Konnte ich erst nach InApp Kauf testen (war aber so nicht gedacht, denke ich). Und eine Kurzanleitung wie man iOS Ordner mit einem anderen Rechner oder NAS synct wäre fein. Ich musste schon eine Weile puzzeln. Was mir noch fehlt: das sollte ohne die App zu starten immer im Hintergrund laufen. Das könnte aber an Apple liegen, wenn das nicht geht. Ich muss die App immer starten um zu syncen. Das geht dann aber sofort. Mittlerweile habe ich mich weiter eingerarbeitet und „sende“ meine Fotos vom iOS Telefon damit auf das NAS. D. h. ich mache Bilder, starte Möbius und meine Bilder sind nahezu direkt auf dem NAS. Ohne weiteren Eingriff. Via VPN auch von unterwegs. Es snyct nicht zurück aufs Telefon, aber das brauche ich auch nicht. Super!

So far I have been using this app for over 2 months with my work colleagues and I really like the idea and how it works. The only thing I don't like is that I don't have all the users always on the internal LAN but they move around the country. And I need to use VPN for this program to work. Another thing is that it doesn't work in the background on mobile and in windows should be always open that cmd file. But I am very satisfied. I believe that later these things that I have will be solved and it will become even more secure.

Für eine bezahlte App finde ich den Funktionsumfang mangelhaft. Die wichtigste Synchronisierung auf iOS Geräten sind sicherlich die Daten der Fotos App. Der Ordnertyp „nur senden“ ist sicher nicht dazu geeignet mehrere Geräte zu Synchronisieren. Ich habe von meinem Rücktrittsrecht gebrauch gemacht.

Der Möbius-Ordner wird in der Dateien-App erst nach einem Neustart de iPads/iPhones angezeigt! Schade, dass ich den Kauf zuerst stornieren musste und 30 Minuten später wieder getätigt habe, als ich auf einen Kommentar des Entwicklers zu einer anderen Rezension gelesen habe, die das gleiche Problem löste. Wäre zumindest ein Hinweis in der Beschreibung der Software vorhanden, hätte dies unnötigen Ärger vermieden. Die App an sich tut jedoch was sie soll.

An sich klingt die Software gut und ist genau das, wonach ich gesucht habe. Jedoch werden Funktionen die nun seit Monaten nicht funktionieren weiterhin verkauft, und im Issue Tracker gibt es auch seit Monaten kein offizielles Statement. Musste leider eine Rückerstattung beantragen.

I am using an iPad and have been willing to switch to Linux as my desktop operating system for a while. Until now sharing files in between these ecosystems has been a nightmare, because the only Cloud swrvice that integrates nicely into iOS is the iCloud. However this app provides everything I could ask for in a one time purchase, is easy to use and nicely integrated into the Files App as well. 5/5 please never stop development!

It’s never synchronized. All the files and the folders are “out of sync.” This app has never worked for me. Sync thing just works everywhere. But with this app, the synchronization process is just stale at some percentage in the middle. That’s all about shy of a megabyte of data to synchronize! I just suddenly remembered that last week I put up data for sync, and now I realize it’s not complete yet. The target machine is recognized, all fine. Only the data won’t move. There’s not a single byte written to the target folder.

Paid for the app some time ago to have Syncthing on my iPad, latest iPadOS of course. Updates with new Syncthing internally were already rare as it is and now the last update made the app/Syncthing forget its own Syncthing name, the shared folder(s) and the connected other nodes, great stuff... ... NOT!
