Mozilla VPN was quick and easy to setup and great value for $ Combined with DUCK DUCK GO I now feel more secure
Although it was shaky on Mac, Mozilla VPN used to be quick and solid on iPhone. No more. Now each attempt to reconnect is a long struggle, and whether any given server will be reachable at all is a dice roll. Once again, it's time to shop for a new paid VPN service. Can't one of them just get it right and keep it that way?
Mozilla VPN doesn’t work on my office’s wi-fi because my organization blocks traffic on the ports that the VPN uses. So, unfortunately, I can’t use it while at the office, and that is a deal-breaker for me. It works on my Verizon wireless, but that is slow in comparison to wi-fi. If only the VPN had the option to use one of our un-blocked ports, I might have been able to use it. (Edit: I upgraded my rating to 4 stars from 3. The developer responded to my review and acknowledged the issue. After that I realized that the app merely doesn’t work in my circumstance. However, other VPN apps work for me, so I still don’t believe this app deserves 5 stars. Sorry Mozilla.)
Since I downloaded IOS 18.1.1 there are so many issues with this VPN. I don’t receive calls or text messages or even voice mails. It’s like the phone is on airplane mode. I also can’t use the App Store with VPN enabled. Please fix. I changed my settings according to the FAQ on Mozilla’s website for text messages, idk if that worked, but what about the calls and voice mail issues?
This app must be sponsored by Bauer Pharmaceuticals so they can sell more Aspirin, because every time I use it I get a major headache. Sometimes I can’t get the on/off switch to slide to the on position, sometimes I can but it slides back to the off position after two seconds with no explanation, and sometimes it stays on but won’t connect to a server after trying for several minutes. Occasionally it works, but rarely on the first try. Sometimes it refuses to turn off when you try to turn it off, such as when you realize that it’s preventing you from accessing the splash page on the hotel’s WiFi, and you have to reset the iPad to force it off. And what the heck is up with the all the storage space it eats up? I just checked on my iPad and the app had taken up over a half GB of “Documents & Data” storage. No way to flush it out except to uninstall and reinstall.
As prior reviews have stated, the service started off pretty…better than expected for the minimal monthly fee, but the connectivity has become much too unstable as of late. I have hopes that the developers with remedy the situation sooner than later, but it just seems to get worse with each new update. Rather unfortunate really.
The main issue with the Mozilla VPN that has followed it across multiple versions and multiple iOS updates has been connectivity inconsistency. If left on for an unspecified amount of time it would just block all network connectivity. A VPN that keeps you from using the network is sort of useless. I cancelled my subscription today and won’t be going back.
So far, this is a good VPN. It runs good and everything, but navigating it with voiceover is extremely difficult. I am blind, so I have to use this screen to navigate around my phone, so it gets really hard when apps don’t have good accessibility. Signing in is easy, as is everything for getting it set up, but after that, going into the settings, doing literally anything else, including turning the VPN on and off from the app requires the screen recognition feature. please fix this
After extensively testing multiple VPN options available in the market (many during their trial periods), for my case, I've found that this VPN stands out as the best choice. I've evaluated various aspects including speed, ease of use, and success rate in accessing specific software/services, and this VPN excels in all these areas. Mozilla, Keep up the great work! (btw a fan of your browser ^ ^)
