Mozilla VPN - Secure & Private

It always says no connection as soon as I turn on the VPN. Turn off the VPN everything is fine..

I’ve been using this since it was released and it was buggy and unreliable for quite a while. Recent releases have really improved it and I’m glad it’s noticeably better.

The vpn icon is not readily visible in latest iOS. There should be a Ui method to alert users that a vpn disconnect has occurred. Or a kill switch. Secondly, allow local network traffic should be more granular as local network are not all safe. Able to print or file share but not broadcast advertise or stream for example.

I really wanted this to be good and support mozilla, but this vpn absolutely sucks. Constantly drops out. Often won’t connect. Vancouver server is unusably slow when it does connect. Don’t waste your money. Mozilla staff: save your generic response in the comments, I tried your troubleshooting, it’s still a steaming pile..

Half of the time when it shows an established connection, there is no access to the internet

It’s not working after I updated to iOS 16, the VPN connects to the server but then instantly the internet stops working.

While I’ve been using this service both of my iPad and iPhone since the arrival of the app, it’s failed to meet my expectations as a am user. I like the “privacy first” approach. However, what’s it’s worth if the VPN doesn’t work most of the time. It doesn’t work on either of my iOS/iPadOS. I tired deleting and reinstalling the app few times. Sometimes, that work. Other time it does nothing. It doesn’t work with Netflix, Disney+ or any other services. When the VPN works. The only reason I got a 2 star instead of one is because it works on my PC.

I guess it does what we’re told it does. However, you need to turn it on every time you power up or restart your mobile device. That, in my opinion, is a fail.

So far I’m having issues with it actually grabbing an internet connection and the app has to be force closed before it’ll display that it’s connected. It’s a little iffy on my phone (iphone 12) and can’t seem to get a connection at all on my iPad pro. Works great on desktop so I know it’s there, hoping the compatibility issues will be smoothed out!

…I wish I had the option of using my local DNS server. I run Pi-Hole on my network to block ads and trackers, and I have to give that up when using Mozilla’s VPN. There would be privacy implications to allowing it, but I only use this service to spoof geolocation, and it’s annoying to have to give up my filtering to do so.
