Just what I was looking for.

No loops, no beats, no samples, no virtual instruments, just a no-nonsense multitrack audio recorder. Up and running in five minutes, completely intuitive (imo) if you have ever used a traditional multitrack recording setup. Thank you Harmonicdog!

MTD is a superb app for those working primarily with audio. Basic version comes with 2 tracks, 2 busses and master fx for next to nothing. More tracks can be added as cheap IAP’s in increments of 8, up to 32. Even if you dabble in the arcane world of Midi, you could ally MTD with Helium from 4Pockets and use both under AUM. Buying all three apps would still cost less than either Cubasis or Auria Pro (at full price), both of which are buggy. So if your recording needs are relatively straightforward, MTD really is a perfect choice.

Great little app with AUv3 tucked in!

As in, you can RUN Audio Units, which means if all you had was enough money to buy this little multi-track audio recorder, plus say the little multi-FX app known by the name a small cute Australian bear, you are up and running. U can use that FX multiple times, and treat it like a ‘channel strip’, as well as effects uses, I did this to cut out the racket our refrigerator made while I was recording some vocals (the ‘gate’ function of course). Very unusual to get AU capability I think, in such a tiny audio-track recorder? Plus, you can up the tracks for a modest cost, first to add 6 tracks taking it to 8, then add another 8, eventually up to 32 total if you want. No MIDI, but you can haul stuff out of this, and port it to Apple’s mini-DAW to do that perhaps? I got this because of the reduced price, so even though I have bigger, more capable DAWs, this is so nice to grab for a vocal snapshot as a reminder or whatever, and it is a great intro to the world of recording especially for beginners or real youngsters. I am neither, and I was happy to get it and quite impressed, because Audio Units is basically just like turning a single socket into a multiple socket, if you like. So buy one single Audio Unit effects or ‘FX’ app, and you can plug a copy in half a dozen times in the same song?! It’s got grown-up features like choosing your bit depth - 16, or 24 etc is standard - and the obvious kHz to capture sound at is 44.1, but if you were dropping it into HD video later, I guess you could plump for 48kHz. Apple’s little DAW is usually set to 44.1kHz and 24 bits until you want to output it for a CD or something, if that puts this in perspective. In other words, this is totally useful to be able to set this stuff. Just like the big boys! I really liked the fact it ‘pops out’ the feature you are trying to work on. So when you want ‘FX’ you put your finger on it, and a set of controls or whatever ‘balloons’ out from under your finger so the controls are a decent viewable size. Tap anywhere, and it miniaturises again once you are done. I did not mean to put too much down here, I guess I am quite enthusiastic about it. And you won’t break it, so just experiment with practice recordings clowning around until you get the idea how it all works. It really is a great start into DAW-type stuff for beginners, along with some basic FX like mentioned earlier, and Audio Units, and of course those can be used - the self-same ones - with almost every other DAW so

Great app!

Update:- Still a great app! My go-to for any recording! Really neat layout, works well & is easy to to use.

Good attempt but eye limited editing and inter-app is wobbly

I love the intuitive ease with which you can set up some basic ideas, including cropping and layering. No audio editor can do without some basic tools such as reverse and transpose, though. This would make it a 4 star for me. I love to work with modular synths and, perhaps too ambitiously, stumbled across some problems when connecting to MiRack, where after recording from a modular patch configuration, the MiRack settings were dramatically messed up or even frozen (eg audio content lost). Not sure where the problem lies - it could be MiRack. I have high hopes for improvements.

No sound from auV3 apps

Thought I’d redownload DAW after getting a new iPhone and the new update but there is no sound from auv3 apps. Maybe a bug. Fix it and you get another star, maybe 2.

For a touch screen device the complex are too complex and the basic are too basic, but this ones just right.

Great app that has everything I need, not overly complicated, and smooth interface. The final mix downs now play in stereo which is ace, as panning is important to me. Recommended to anyone wishing to record simple but effective music. Edit: had to edit this to 4 stars as I can no longer share my music to soundcloud without getting an error.. “Ok, that went wrong. ! Oops, upload failed |HTTP error: 422” There’s no list of error codes, I’ve logged out and into soundcloud. Anyone have any ideas?
