MyŠkoda Essentials

With the updates over the last 12 months, what was once a good app to allow me to keep track of my Octavia running statistics has become useless. The latest update pushes the new MySkoda app as the alternative but my cars, an Octavia and a Kodiak don’t work with it just getting the message “Vehicle Not Supported By The App”. If the car hasn’t changed, why can’t the app be reinstalled to what it once was?

Picked up a brand new 2024 Kodiaq Sportsline - fully optioned - and this app doesn’t give me any practical reason whatsoever to use it. I actually don’t know what the purpose of the app is. The only thing that works on it is a the “vehicle details” card which tells me the model and VIN of the car. Great.

I recently bought a kodiaq RS few months ago. I was under the impression that the car is equipped with full cloud connectivity including remote start etc. turns out the app is not supported apart from looking up skoda dealers and booking service which can be done via a simple google search.

Why have an app that is unsupported in Australia available for download in Australia? 3 years in, and the app has worked once, for a period of about 2 weeks. During that time, its functions were so limited that there really isn’t a point in having an app. Maybe the team can try the coding function in ChatGPT-4 to develop something that’s useful?

I believe I had it working once in 2.5years. Somewhere in between of the 2.5years. In that time I believed, wow, Skoda has it sorted. My trust in the connectivity lasted for ~2wks. These days, I can’t be bothered anymore. Just to give it another try, i updated the app, but as per usual it failed. I cannot even connect to the server. I’m very disappointed after purchasing a superb, a car Skoda wishes to sell to business ppl. The non working app and the non working internet connection in the car won’t help to gain a solid reliable reputation, Skoda easily could have.

Doesn’t seem to work in Australia anymore. Particularly annoying as the Virtual Cockpit will not display total dist travelled (re: service interval) except when inserting or removing key. App is needed because no service history readily accessible (log books na). Leaves you at the mercy of the dealer.

Lost count of how many times I have attempted to register to use this app ! Absolutely and utterly useless!! So much promise but keep getting connection fail ( with my correct credentials & wi-fi running & yes tried mobile data alas nothing ) What is the point of having this app available if it is so glitchy it won’t even let you register- new Skoda owner who was told at point of sale how good the technology and connectivity was - WRONG ! Come one Skoda sort this out

I’m in Australia and have a brand new Skoda Kodiaq. I enter all the details and then comes up with “connection failed” “service is not available “ What’s going on?

I was excited to start and the first 2 screens worked well. After inputting my name, the app refused to move to the next page, returning an error connection failed. Reasonable annoyed that I’m not able to proceed.

Great that you have changed the logo. Wheee has my car gone in the app. I thought that the data was uploaded, is this not correct? I’m logged in but car not there have to re-enter vin. When are we going to get service history?????
