This app always worked fine for appointments and prescriptions… But as soon as My Health Online closed a month ago i havent been able to use NHS app at all.. Same Error message every time when i try to access Appointments & Prescriptions!! Cant get through to GP for an appointment!! Pointless App
My Health Online was far superior
The app is clunky not very user friendly, slow to load. MyHealthOnline was a way better service. Currently trying to order my prescription and the app won’t even load.
Really welcome
Really welcome opportunity to access GP digitally. Can see my meds and whilst me surgery hasn’t enabled online appts yet. I’m hoping that comes soon.
Backward step
Compared with the website this is a backward step for me.
When ordering prescriptions most of mine are not available as a repeat prescription so I have to go into the expired repeat prescription section, however this isn’t available on the app so totally useless to me.
I Noticed comments about trying to get appointments, this isn’t down to the app. It’s down to the doctor surgery to release them.
When they fix this issue I’ll be happy to use it.
Inferior
I have no idea why this app seems to have dramatically cut down the number of GP appointments available. When I was with My Health Online, there were sometimes 50 appointments available to book on line at 8 am. With the NHS App I have never found more than 7 available, and 3 of those were with a nurse. If you wait until 8.03 they have all gone. It’s then a waste of time trying to ring the surgery. I have heard from other people who are with different surgeries and are now having inexplicable problems getting an appointment. I can only assume that My Health Online was run privately. Now we are in the hands of the government everything has gone downhill.
One day it’ll maybe work
It’s good to see some progress being made with digitising access to healthcare services in wales (NHS online didn’t work if you were in wales not that long ago).
The app is nothing flashing and pretty clunky but that’s not necessarily the worst thing in the world. The part I care about is actually being able to use it to access healthcare services, my heath record etc and if I’m able to do it that in a clunky app that’s fine.
But not as far as I can tell, not only is the app clunky, it’s also doesn’t work. Neither the appointments, prescriptions or my health sections of the app seem to work.
This may be down to a temporary service outage when I tried to use the app, but doesn’t give me hope.
Come back in a year and it might work?
Can’t use the app
I took a video of myself saying the security code and uploaded it with a scan of my passport. I’ve then waited nearly 2 weeks and today received an email saying “ We could not see some of the text or images on your ID”. The picture of my passport couldn’t be any clearer, it was done on a flatbed scanner. All the text is crystal clear, all the edges are visible. There is inevitably a small amount of reflection from the security feature of the passport, but there’s not much I can do about that, that’s what it looks like. You can see my face perfectly fine. What do I do now? Try again just to wait another 2 weeks only to be told the same thing again?
Awful.
I have to order my meds 2 weeks in advance and I can’t order via the app:(
Useless.
Can’t see my GP records, can’t make appointments, can’t order prescriptions. Just wasted 10 minutes of my time downloading this and setting it up. I have autism and social anxiety and was hoping this would help me because I’m struggling to speak to a pharmacist or receptionist about my prescription in person. This app is a total DUD.
Discriminatory
I can’t authenticate ID for my elderly mother with dementia because she has no drivers licence (in date) or passport. She cannot get to the surgery and they do not take repeat prescription requests over the phone. As such I now have to travel there most weeks for her (around my own paid work) to hand in repeat prescription requests in person. This discrimination with ID required is appalling, it mainly affects the very old, ill or poor.
