so, i was on my longest ever streak of 16 days ,(i’m not the best) and i was really proud of it . until this morning… i wake up open the app go on wordle and my streak is gone i was very upset
The most fun that this game can offer, is the splendid experience of challenging friends. Why is there not a leaderboard for all the games?!!!
I really enjoy these games, engaging and fun and using my puzzle skills I don’t understand why I need to have constant internet access to use them? The games can update daily. It’s so unnecessary and eating into data or just wanting to be offline some times. Without this it would be 5 stars
Not designed for a global audience
They keep my mind active.I think that I have tried them all now.
… way to waste time!
On the website features get added more quickly eg Connections Bot which you can’t get in the app. Would be nice to have those but otherwise it’s a solid app with easy navigation. Would also be nice to configure your own favourite games so they could appear higher up with the history carousel rather than being relegated to a subpage.
I subscribed to this months ago because I liked Wordle, and wanted to access other games. After some time I grew tired of it and cancelled my subscription. I know in my Google Play account it expired 28/08/24. The New York Times have continued taking my subscription (only £2 a month, but not the point). Tried cancelling again, then again. There is no email address to contact them on. Nor a Chat facility. They provide telephone numbers for people from the UK to call. Thinking how much it would cost me, I tried calling from my mobile but the number was not recognised. They are still trying to take it and are now telling me my payment is overdue and to amend my payment details. As fun as the games are, don’t bother, because you seem to be trapped in to paying for something you no longer want.
The variety of puzzles here makes it easy to pick the type that appeals at any given moment. Letterboxed is completely new to me and has become my favourite. Mini crossword is sometimes undoable as a Brit - so many US brand names, film and sport references. But getting better at each is a silly fun extra to start the day. It’s churlish to criticise a freebie, but that’s partly what reviews are for: 1: the dictionary for both Spelling Bee and Letterboxed seems oddly narrow, given that it’s a NYT app. 2: the detailed images in Tiles are really hard to make out on a phone, especially colour contrasts.
