Octopus Energy Watchdog

This app was previously great, and a must-have for Agile tariff customers, however it is now broken and borderline unusable. Data no longer updates correctly and it shows incorrect tariff rates. The developer has apparently ended support, which I had to find out here while searching for a replacement rather than a message in the app. Can no longer recommend.

This app is one of only a few I’ve ever left a review for, it’s that good. As a pensioner I am in the lucky position to be able to get the most out of knowing when the cheapest time is to use the washing machine, dryer, have showers and cook. It’s not always of a night time as some might think. A must have if you’re able with your tariff and it will certainly help in the times ahead even if you work.

Seemed like a good idea, however there is one huge flaw… You login, obviously, and in doing so you’d expect it to pull in your correct tariff in order to quantify costs. Oh no, in my case I have a fixed tariff, not variable, but the “costs” of electricity usage shown are based on some variable tariff that changes by the hour, and not my fixed tariff. Thankfully the bills are correct but the App wrong.

App not updated need lots of improvements

Great features and UI - love the new iOS widget too. I find this one of the most helpful apps on my phone, really allowing me to make the most of Octopus Agile. Worth every penny, thank you!

Great for quickly accessing Agile prices and half-hourly usage data for gas and electricity. However, the daily and 30-day p/kWh calculations are incorrect as they don’t subtract the daily standing charge first.

I use this everyday to track, monitor and adjust my electricity usage, great app!

Awesome app! Though seems to show days that don’t have a full days worth of consumption available. E.G. 47/48 30 minute consumption slots.

We’re on Agile, outgoing and gas tariffs. The gas works but the app is picking up our outgoing (export) data and assuming it to be our import data. Colour coding of Agile prices is neat but could be improved if user could set the price points for the colours manually
