Oman Taxi: Otaxi

Gone to Muscat for a business trip. Thanks to this app was really easy to move around Muscat without issues. Just tell the app where you are and where to go and wait for a driver to ask to your request. The gps show you real time driver position and timings. It’s quite precise. The only thing I must admit will be good to have in the app is a way to contact driver using chat or some form of vocal messages, as the customer maybe doesn’t have access to a roaming phone or an omani phone sim card, so every attempt from the driver to contact the customer may fail.

After the last update, the app just logged out of my account and now won't send SMS to my phone. It's impossible to log back in, and reaching support is unrealistic. Moreover, many of my acquaintances are facing the same issue.

Before, the map was more accurate.

Like another reviewer wrote, this is the Uber of Muscat. Pre-load your credit card, and it’s the perfect way to explore the vast distances of Muscat. So happy to have used this app bc the rates quoted by drivers while I was not using the app were much higher.

Am having trouble with maps in this app driver got lost in claims not knowing the pickup area, cant see driver profile or number before trip am using uber uk very smoothly and never had such problems

If you’re looking for the Uber of Oman, this is it. They just recently added (Oct 2023) airport pick up and drop off. The only thing is that you will have to move your pickup location away from your hotel a bit (I used some store two doors down) and you’ll be fine to order the normal cars and not the very pricey luxury ones. Also make sure you add your payment method before taking your first ride to make it even easier
