OnSong 2024

It seems that as it evolves it fails at the basics. Backup/Restore to Google not available.

I’ve been using OnSong for a long while and at first it was an affordable subscription. I paid the premium for a couple of years but they keep putting their costs up. I have downgraded my subscription but it doesn’t have all the features I need, like the console, making notes, or highlighting words/chords on my charts. I am a solo artist who sometimes works with a band, but my band use other methods to display their charts. I may have to look for another app to use though I love OnSong. Feel disappointed.

I’m genuinely interested in using this app and was interested in buying it. But the free app is so frustrating that it’s putting me off. I get that features are only available in the paid for app but it would be nice to at least try the features in a limited way without the annoying “start a free trial” box coming up, that does nothing when you tap it. How do I know onsong will work with my files before I pay for it? Surely that’s the point of a limited free version…?

I have been using music apps for years but was seeking a better solution. I found myself being drawn in to OnSong with the hope that because of the high price, it must be good. Sadly, the over-the-top unnecessarily, feature-rich software is really unusable. It is complex, with a non-intuitive user interface and crashed when testing its features. While it has all sorts of minimally required features, things which are really beneficial aren’t there - like auto-syncing to ensure compatibility between iPad/iPhone installs, hasn’t been built. To me, this is a basic requirement and ensures data integrity. Instead (as there must be reliability problems) you get reminders from help desk emails to remind you to take regular backups (on the multiple times I had to contact support to work out how to use the basics - BTW I’ve been in the tech industry for years so I know my way around software). If I owned this business, and it is bringing revenue in to the level that meets the businesses needs then I would continue as is. If it isn’t, I’d employ a consultant to consider a redesign. The need in the industry is definitely there to get this right. I hope they get there.

Subscribed for last 1 years, very happy with ever Upgraded to 2024 version…..It’s been ruined app freezes / crashes iPad ( running latest iOS, before you say anything.) Developers should check all this before realise. Some songs work fine, others get a freeze page…all with same settings Do Not Upgrade yet!!!!

Very small Uke Group and works great for us. As we get more used to it it makes everything so much easier.

Yes OnSong are offering to pay users £5 if they provide a 4* or 5* Review. Until recently, OnSong had a review rating of just 1*, basically because it’s a lousy program. Surprise, Surprise it has suddenly jumped to 4*. It seems some people are easily bought. MY ORIGINAL REVIEW This App has a lousy rating which will put potential users and also existing users off. The recent 2023 upgrade was full of bugs and is very disappointing. OnSong is expensive for the limited amount of functions it provides. The annual subscription for the full package is almost £50 depending whether you pay monthly or annually. I have made numerous suggestions to the developers but sadly these have been ignored. UPDATE 23 JUNE 2023 OnSong has generally received lousy reviews which I suspect is damaging their sales. To combat this the OnSong Developers are now offering a £5 payment to OnSong Users who leave a 4* or 5* Review. Surely Apple will not allow this. This also means the 4* and 5* reviews cannot be trusted and should be regarded as suspicious. UPDATE 30 NOV 2023

Doesnt want to work, wont connect to chromecasts wont cast and developers not responding to even fast tracked emails an £46.99 a year …
