Outdoorsy - Rent an RV

Cannot determine how to search for only 5th wheel trailers.

I was an owner for a year and half with Outdoorsy and had a renter break the Grey Tank on the vehicle. Although the renter purchased the insurance through Outdoorsy, Outdoorsy deemed the damage as “renter negligence” and said they would not cover the damage, which was disappointing based on the income I generated for them over the course of ownership. $4,000 repair later I decided it was time to pull off of the Outdoorsy platform. Highly recommend RVShare for renters and Owners. They have amazing customer service and stand by their renters and owners.

We booked through Tom Nooks RV. Somehow they outsource to outdoorsy and then outdoorsy books with individuals. There is no way to change anything about your reservation or cancel it. No phone number or options to modify your trip. I’ve emailed with multiple people that are trained to give you a run around excuse about why there website doesn’t work or to check back later. You will get charged excess fees and have no way of canceling them. We had to deal with our credit card company to fight $3k of charges for an RV we never used and tried to cancel within 24 hours of booking.

This app is literal heaps of tech debt garbage piled on top of each other. It hardly works. The selection is pathetic. I had to use an app and two browsers to complete a transaction. Hazel in customer support was the third agent I had to talk to and the only helpful one. I’m guessing their CTO will be fired within 6 months but good luck finding someone qualified who would want to take this on.

Absolutely screwed by this app and “renters”. Leading up to our trip for 5 weeks the “host” added on an ask for a hundred here and a hundred there…adding up to 400 more…fine….just moving on…but then the deposit went through, 1500, and not more than 15 minutes later the host texted me that he had an accident with the camper and send me a photo of the wrecked car - it was 8pm pacific and he had confirmed pickup at 530, 6pm, and then asked for another hundred dollars at 715pm after sunset. The photo was clearly mid day. Absolutely garbage. Do NOT TRYST THIS APP!

Seems like a good deal on the surface until you try to book and realize they add 35% in “transaction fees.” Greedy garbage

The app is very frustrating on the iPhone because it locks me out every time that I go to use the application I have to lock back in. Why can’t it just keep me logged in?

I’m not the best at some of these things but I found it easier to use than most. Just picked up the camper and ready to travel.

The app doesn’t retain login information. You have to sign in every single time you use the app. I gave up and use the website instead

Website and mobile application are unreliable and unpredictable. Why does the app sign me out every day? Why would my account show I sent a request to an owner I never contacted? No confidence.
