Petal Maps – GPS & Navigation

Terrible.

Just read about this interesting sounding navigation app because of sheer serendipity. And even though at first use it seems okay - found my location spot on when I gave it permission to use my location “when using the app” (I’m using an iPhone 14 Pro Max FYI). But after going into settings and choosing “night” in the navigation option it didn’t have any effect and continued to display using the day setting! Because of that disappointing failure to change the night setting I’m only rating it 3 stars on this occasion. I’m hoping the missing night mode will become available ASAP! Other than that minor gripe I’m looking forward to using this Google Apple Maps alternative to put it to some “real world” tests. 🤔🤞🏻

Only work on Portrait mode on IPhone Hangs quite often and does not show route preview, Interface can be little more user friendly

Seems decent but not supported by CarPlay for some reason ?

Downloaded app to try out but will not load to Apple CarPlay.

On the face of it it looks great but I soon found some irritations. Can’t add Via points. When taking a wrong turn it suggests a U turn in the road when there’s a roundabout a few meters further up the road which would be a much better option. Maybe a few versions down the line I’ll have another look but I’ll stick with my regular App for now.

Dint like the new data collections you have put on. Anyone who thinks this better than Google maps or Waze is not on this planet

I love this maps it is lot better than Google maps
