The app is fine when connected via Bluetooth, but cannot connect via USB cable.

Works ok. I use it with a CA501. Annoying it doesn’t remember the previous connection so is always slow to open. The metronome control is odd in that it will sound through your device and not the piano *unless* you also have the BT audio connection active.

The only thing I want to use this app for does not work: controlling the metronome so I can see the BPM. I have a Kawai KDP120 and the only way to hear the metronome through the headphones when playing is to manually adjust to the speed you want without knowing the BPM. I would like to be able to control this with the app. Seems like a basic functionality. But no, when you enable the metronome on the app it plays out of your device and only your device. How stupid is that? You can control everything else on your piano with this app except for the metronome. The only reason I give this two stars is that the app seems well designed otherwise.

Cannot change language to English. All cues in Chinese. Nonexistent "lessons" you would have to buy some lesson book I tried when I was a kid that I did not like then. You would think they would have more modern techniques

I got this app when I bought my new Kawai CA-49. I think as a tool it’s kind’ve nifty even though I’ve not used it much. But for the last couple of weeks (around the time I got this app) I’ve noticed my battery life get very bad, like need to charge to 100% twice a day bad. I thought at first my phone was just getting old and it was time for a replacement but today I decided to check the app battery usage. To my shock, this app was running in the background nearly 24 hours a day and eating away more than a THIRD of my battery each day. Again I have BARELY used this app. I played around with it a bit when I got it and then never touched it. I haven’t even been around my piano every day/all day so what the heck can this very simple app be doing all day? My assumption is there’s a bug in the code but it all seems very shady and annoying. Certainly not worth keeping it. It’s one thing if an app is glitchy and doesn’t always work the way you expect it’s another when it starts messing with your phone in ways you’re not aware of. Very disappointed and I hope this gets addressed.

I was looking for a way to play midi files on the CA-49. I did some Googling and found out about this app. It connected to my piano fine and has a big library of music. I was able to play midi files from its library. I’m in classical heaven. 5/5. Great app and UI.

Won’t connect from my iPhone but will connect from my iPad. On my phone, it sees the piano and tries to connect but fails. But if you look in Settings > Bluetooth, it says it is connected. 1 star until this gets fixed.

This app has some quirks (e.g. it gets a little confused with iOS status bar size), but it’s better than the average rating would indicate. It connected flawlessly to my CA49 and allowed me to access most settings and demo songs using a better UI than the one on the built-in screen.

Sometimes it works.
