As a devoted user and a person guided by Christian principles, it is with a heavy heart that I find myself in a position to share my concerns about this application. When I initially invested in this application, it was with the understanding that a one-time purchase would grant me access to a comprehensive suite of features. This promise was not only clear but deeply resonated with the values of honesty and integrity. However, recent changes have introduced a subscription model for features previously available, fundamentally altering our agreement. This unexpected shift raises significant ethical concerns and deviates from the principles of fairness and transparency that foster trust and respect in any relationship. Upon discovering the removal of several pivotal features, I reached out to the developers, seeking understanding and dialogue. The explanation provided—a dire financial situation necessitating a move to a subscription model to avoid bankruptcy—was disheartening. While empathy is a cornerstone of Christian ethics, and understanding the plight of others is essential, it is equally important that solutions do not unfairly burden those who have placed their trust in us. True stewardship involves finding solutions that honor our commitments and treat all parties with respect and dignity. Efforts to find resolution through Apple were unfruitful, as they expressed their inability to intervene with third-party applications. This leaves users, who have made investments based on trust and goodwill, in a challenging position, deprived of the value they were promised and without a clear path to seek fairness. The crux of my concern is not the subscription model itself but the manner of its implementation. A transition that affects existing users so fundamentally should be approached with the utmost care, transparency, and, ideally, consent. These are not just business best practices; they are imperatives rooted in a commitment to treating others as we would wish to be treated, a principle that lies at the heart of Christian ethics. In a spirit of reconciliation and hope for a resolution that reflects our shared values of honesty, respect, and mutual support, I reached out to the developers with a suggestion. I updated this app on my iphone 4 (version 7.1.2) It opens on the screen then it bounces to my home page. Double click the home button and the app is still there but it is frozen (can't play, can't adjust volume). It saddens me very much because I really like this app for Bible reading and making playlists. Send another update?? (Happened with my whatsapp and they sent another update -- works great ever since!)

Wow! What a huge update! This has many wonderful features which will probably take me a while to get to use it to my full advantage. I especially like the loop feature which I can now use for my personal study and memorization. -Psalm 119:11 Amen!

I grew up listening to Mr. Scourby narrate the Bible and as a big audiobook listener to begin with, I was very excited to find out there is now an app for his reading of the KJV. The concept behind the app is great; unlike most audiobooks, which are designed for a straight-through listen and don’t function well for a book like the Bible where people like to select different books, chapters and verses to listen to, the app is broken down in a very browsable book/chapter/verse format. The biggest problem though - and this is a deal breaker for me - is because the recording is so old, there is quite a bit of static and the recording doesn’t transition smoothly from verse to verse. After each verse, there is a noticeable “clipping” sound where the verses have been separated into separate sound bites, in order to get the browsability required for the Bible format. If you are listening to more than a verse, the sound is extremely annoying. I love Scourby’s narration, but I couldn’t handle to editing problems, especially for $20. I sadly had to return this app.

This is an amazing app it is what i had always thought could be done with this mans voice. I have him on vinyl records, casette tapes, mp3, and now on my iphone5. Koodos for this.

I’ve had this app for years and originally paid $25 or $20 for what Was a lifetime purchase. This was it before a $25 purchase was common. At some point an update removed features like the timer, that I used to use regularly. And now it is a subscription for $31 a year. I feel ripped off because I was not aware if any if the changes.

I bought this app a few years ago and suddenly I can’t use the audio playlists I created unless I purchase a subscription! I hate subscription based apps and never purchase them. I guess I’ll just have to delete this app. BYE!

I bought this app many years ago and used the loop feature. Apparently now I supposedly have to buy their subscription for a feature that was included in my original purchase? Absolutely disgusting. You should be ashamed.

Paid $20 for this app. The developer is now charging at least $3.99 for every feature. Come on people. And this is not one time charge…billed Annually!!!!! Just to increase the listening speed $3.99????? Buyer stay away.
