Half the time I try to use the app to control my temperature it doesn’t respond and says it’s not connected to WiFi

Always going offline. This is a piece of junk!!!

We’ve had ours over five years. We were part of a test group when the Sensi thermostat came out and we’ve loved it ever since.

There was one hiccup that was not included in the setup instructions. I have a heat pump system and I had to hold the setup button for 8 seconds to change the heat pump setting. I wish this was included in the instructions for an easier setup. If you set up this thermostat on your own and find the a/c blowing warm air, check the settings for the outdoor feature before sending the unit back or calling a hvac company, you may save yourself some money. Once it was setup correctly, it does what it was advertised to do, and it has some safety features to prolong your hvac unit.

It's been disconnected from my wifi for well over a year and there's no way to reconnect. I've emailed support and they ask me technical questions about my furnace/air conditioner that I don't know. I don't work in hvac, I have no clue about any of the things they ask me. I'm throwing this thermostat in the river and getting a basic one again

It's all well and good, but when it disconnects from the Wifi, you better pray it comes back online on its own. My mother had one installed and recently she had to get a new one because it wouldn’t connect to the wifi. For several days we restarted the router, updated it, even unplugged it and let it sit for a bit. No luck so she was forced to get a new one. When it arrived we installed it. It was all well and good, until 20 minutes later when it disconnected again. Immediately back to square one. Luckily we could still use it like a regular thermostst. But its really a big annoyance when you want to use the app to heat up or cool down the house before you get home, but can’t. Also for some reason once the wifi for a Sensi thermostat goes off you can’t do anything for the settings for that specific thermostat. Change the name of delete it. Instructions say you can only delete it in the specific thermostst setting which I think is a huge design flaw. You should be able to delete it in the main hub of the app not the specific thermostat setting.

I have three houses I live in and I can monitor the heat and air. It pays for itself in saved energy and has been reliable for many years now. Internet is required and get a monitored camera to keep an eye on your property too.

I have been using Sensi Thermostats for 12 years the thermostat works great but the customer service is even greater

The app has limited features. I can’t access the thermostats remotely when internet shuts down and internet is frequently down.
