Shapr 3D CAD modeling

The only experience I have with CAD is SketchUp and Silhouette Studio, that combined the tutorials within the app got me using the app within half an hour. The app is very thoughtful designed and offers lots of tools for precise and beautiful designs.

I went through the tutorial and instantly fell in love with this program. It is really intuitive and actually fun to use. But I am a hobbyist just looking to design for 3D printing things for my home. I will never make money from any of my designs. So it would not make sense for me to pay the outrageous price for the full suite. The limitations of the free version wouldn’t bother me, except that it will only allow you to export your model in “Low Res” which means it ends up looking like something from a PS1 game from 1995. Don’t get me wrong, I would be happy to pay for a hobbyist tier if it was reasonably priced. I honestly feel like the company is leaving money on the table by choosing not to offer this sort of feature. Hoping they come to their senses someday.

Buy laptop and use blender or cheap/free REAL cad software

Don’t even spend the time to go to the tutorial if you can’t fork $300/yr. The free tier is useless and there is no hobby tier.
