Good app. Unfortunately doesn’t support older cameras.
I had a 7 day trial but then had to cancel it because it didn’t work with my EOS20D, 40D, 600D, 700D or my SX60. It only worked with my SX540HS. Such a shame.

There are many things I love about this app and its advanced tools. Exposure bracketing is so much easier than with a cable release because you only need to set the number of exposures and differences, then tap once to shoot. Shutter then takes all photos one after another without you needing to click each time. Less chance of movement between exposures. The intervalometer is not only useful for astrophotography and timelapses, but also in combination with a selfie, especially for family or group shots. You can set to take multiple shots for different poses or to reduce the chance of catching someone blinking. The selfie timer is great for staging landscape photos with yourself in. One of the hardest things about doing this is ensuring you are in the right place in the scene, and that the camera is focused on you correctly. In the past I had to guess where I should stand, manually focus on that point then set the 10-second timer and run to the spot. Sometimes I had to do it repeatedly to get it right. With Shutter, I can just walk into the scene, watching it all on my phone, position myself in the picture then tap to focus perfectly on myself. Then I can set a short timer to give me time to put the phone away in my pocket, and start my pose. Perfect shots each time. The best thing, and this where it really trumps the Canon Connect app, is that when I put my phone in my pocket to make an adjustment to my camera, it stays connected. Canon Connect alway disconnects when I do this. This app is well worth the money. Also, the support from the developer is top notch. Highly recommended.
Seems the developers have not made any improvements on the connection issues. For me one in 3 attempts connects to the camera. Seems to align with previous comments posted up to three years ago. Really can it be so difficult to sort out wireless connectivity? It seems ok to take still pics one the auto setting and no flash setting when this altered manually on the camera, but I can’t get it to do video, continuous shots or change to any other setting tried. The camera disconnects when it goes to sleep so leaving t the tripod for much length of time is pretty hopeless hence I am not sure it’s going to be of any use for wildlife photography.
I cannot get it to connect on my 250D, uninstalled
Very handy for impromptu self portraits
Waste of time. When you do get it to finally connect- about 1 in 20 attempts most of the promised functions like intervalometer are not there.
This app will not connect to a canon camera !! I have tried everything and still no luck I will be requesting a refund!
This app really came in handy when the Canon Connect app didn’t. Thanks Shutter! 🫶🏼
There was hella lag when I conect the Camara to my phone
Make sure that your camera is on the list. It appears that you must have WiFi enabled.
