SimpleMind Pro - Mind Mapping

Congrats to the developer for fooling the customers. So there is the thing, if you get the free version and upgrade it all is well. If you buy the full version from the start it will take your money for the same product but it will work like crap necause it has bugs...so yeah...f u developers!

I really appreciate that SimpleMind doesn’t use a subscription model. I feel confident creating mind maps that I’ll be able to edit and view them for as long as I need. I don’t use mind mapping that frequently, so this is crucially important to me.

I am an outliner. Helps to keep my mind in line. SimpleMind adds a visual aspect to this organization. I love it and have for years.

A few years ago I checked over 20 mind mapping apps and chose SimpleMind. It is a no nonsense productivity app, which strikes a good balance between speed / multiplatform use and features. Many mm apps are toys and a few are too function-heavy for iOS use, more suited for knowledge or project management. PROS • YOU CAN ACTUALLY JOT DOWN NEW IDEAS ON-THE-GO. This, to me, was the most important feature and requires smart multi platform user interface design. Mac, iPad & iPhone versions are smartly optimized for each platform. Of course, the Mac version has more customization features, but the key functions are in the iOS versions, especially for the iPhone. • Sync across platforms is FAST. • Allows links, pictures and comments, as well as many other options to insert / link info to nodes. • Moving and automatic reordering of branches and subranches (horizontal / vertical, list / tree, etc.) is easy and well implemented. • Import text and convert into a mind map. With the right command, import output from ChatGPT! • Infinite Undo list • You can predefine styles for nodes (fill color, line color, text size, etc.) with one click to code different types of content. Connector styles can be edited and predefined as well. • It is not cheap, especially the Mac version, but its a lifetime fee, no suscription. Good tools cost money and I’d rather pay it upfront once. CONS • Export options are not as versatile as they could be. It allows txt and PDF export, choosing which branches to export. But “smarter” export is not implemented, so you can, for instance, to a (decent) Word or Powerpoint file. I have made peace with SM being just a very good mind mapping tool. • The UX has some annoying quirks. For instance if you delete a node, the focus is not kept in that spot so you have to navigate back there. But they keep adding useful functionality, so that compensates (I’ve used MS Word for DECADES and several VERY BASIC formatting options like bullets have a mind of their own …) • Being a mid range productivity tool, there is a learning curve. If you want a simple mind map with a few branches, use any of the other toy apps.

What’s not to like about something that works! long-term support and development is unmatched.

Easy enough for a beginner but enough zing, zang and bells for the most diehard mindmapper. Did I mention how reasonably priced it was?

I’m an obsessive mind mapper who’s tested out many apps and programs, and SimpleMind Pro is hands-down the best. It does everything I want it to, nothing I don’t, and even their customer support is superb. I recommend to everyone.

This is an awesome tool. Easy to use and the pro version can be used on different devices. I always have access to my notes/plans from my ipad to phone to computer. This is a big help in keeping account management straight and easy.

First off you open the app and it’s just the mind map with no tutorial or anything, it’s a confusing app, so I’ve opted for a refund because I’ve already deleted the app and won’t be using it. If you have adhd this is not for you.

Amazing how they continue to provide updates and improvements, been using for over half a decade
