In order to setup basic functionality of the Sony device, the only way to do that is through the app. The app collects a lot of personal private data, way beyond what would seem necessary to perform the setup functions, in a way that does not seem to be aligned with best interests of the customer.

Compared to Yamaha app this Sony piece of turd is not even from our universe. The bt is unreliable there is not much what you can actually do with the app. You cannot turn on or off the amp and to all in all the app layout is childish. Update 21.8.2020 This pathetic peace of so called Sony Software, tested, approved etc by corporate called Sony which has kept the quality of any device etc extremely high now fails dramatically in this kind of small part of piece of app satisfactorily for the customers and user is pathetic and kind of ignorance. And more pathetic is that no one reads these f! reviews.

FYI: People do like apps which work on their smart phones. Sadly what I can I comment about this app is that it will install on your phone but sadly it cannot find evan it's Sony devices...well it will if I Un plug my sun woofer for a while the my phone and Sony are kind of connected. Sony, how on earth you can release this kind of app knowing your reputation of quality etc. Sigh
