SpareRoom misused my IP and data by banning all of my accounts from my temporary IP because I questioned living with someone who discriminated against me for being heterosexual. SERIOUSLY. This unstable transgender individual (who would have held my security deposit btw) told me that I had to be “queer/trans” in order to move-in, then when I told them that SpareRoom has a feature for preferred biological sex not perceived gender and that they were discriminating against me, they told me to F off basically. I contacted SpareRoom and they’ve ignored all my customer service emails, then that’s when I found out they were blocking my IP. Personally reporting Flatshare Ltd to my congressman today and to the FBI, CIA then following through after. Time to Hunt.

It’s ok. I am still without a place so we’ll see.

I got this app a while back while trying to look for an affordable place to live. But this app is only useful to people who don’t have a budget haha, so if you are on a tight budget and want a room, don’t download. They also don’t update the rooms available. I was looking for a room near me, there weren’t any at all, I waited a few weeks and would check every now and then, there are still no rooms available to rent. So if you are planning on downloading this app and you need a place to rent asap, don’t go for this app. It takes a while to find a room and even longer for anyone to get back to you. There has to be a way to identify and eliminate scamming. Also, there should be a rating system so landlords/Roommate’s can receive feedback from folks who have rented via SpareRoom.

Any app that requires you to pay to send any messages is a useless app.

If you could include a background check, that would be great. One of my candidates turned out to be a convicted felon and I didn’t find out until they moved in…

I’ve tried creating an account 3 times and it always asks me to call and verify my account. They’re always closed when I call.

I have recently posted a room for rent in the Indianapolis area. I saw that there was an option to upgrade my listing for $24.99 and decided to take advantage of their services because it would put my listing towards the top. 2 days later my account is suspended and here I am fighting with this app developper to refund my money.
