Spark: Chords, Backing Tracks

I love my Spark but the app has some serious issues. After 18 months of using the app here are all the things that could be improved. - The layout needs improving. The things you tap the most (the tone list categories) are too small and it seems the app thinks you are going to edit the tone every time you select it, which is not the case. A column layout for selecting tones would be better and edit only when you tap edit. - the ability to move tones and create custom tome lists is essential. I don’t want to do 5 taps to change tones and when I gig I’d like my tones in an easy list. - There is a bug that when you use the foot switch and go from custom saved tone to a hardware tone if you tap another tone on the app it flips out and switches to the hardware tones list. You then have to make another 5 taps to get back to the other save tone in another tone list. - The app does not support side-by-side view. You cannot save or edit tones in this view. Many uses will be running a lyric app beside the Spark app when performing so it would be nice if the app supported side-by-side view. - sync to Dropbox should happen automatically because there is no way of knowing if you are signed into positive grid. It has happed to me that the app becomes signed out while using it and then you lose tone edits. And why not other cloud services other than Dropbox? - The app does not integrate with iOS password manager so signing in is a complicated cut and paste process, which is a pain if you are on stage in the dark. - The tone cloud is excellent, however searching can be weird. Sometimes searching for something gives no results when you know a tone with that name exists. - Access to the tuner from the tone view would be nice, rather that several taps away.

This is hands down the best purchase I’ve ever made. Wow.

I love this app and all the features I’m very happy with the app and my ampli , also would be amazing if I could record myself in a a looping and jam with myself ;)

Easy to understand for a technophobe like me. Which is good coz I wasn’t able to find any decent “help” functions. Amazing versatility. Very powerful. But it’s not perfect .... doesn’t always remain connected via Bluetooth and the auto-chords are usually plain wrong. Still highly recommend though. Brilliant “big” sound for a small unit and incredible value. Smart jam and importing tones can sometimes be a hit or a miss but the Spark comes into its own for playing along to backing tracks or over imported songs. I haven’t yet found a song , however obscure, that it wasn’t possible to import easily. It’s also wonderful that imported music has a separate volume knob to your own playing. Would give 4.6 stars but that’s not an option

I’m new to guitars and amps so when trying to find a good sound the AI makes it so much easier to find a great sound me and my dad were messing around with it and found many cool things about the app it has so many cool things it even can teach you the songs connected to your Apple Music!

First off, I want to note that the Spark 2 is a solid improvement over the original. The speaker is much better and I’m not longer hearing the loud hum from the original’s grounding issues. Many of the app’s features are very good. However, the extremely buggy nature of one of the core features — previewing and selecting tones from the Tone Cloud — is so bad that I’m considering returning the amp. After just previewing a few different tones, the amp will no longer play the selected tone in the amp, which rebooting the amp and relaunching the iOS app. It is so incredibly frustrating and happens so often. One of the main reasons I got the amp was to explore all the tones available on the Tone Cloud to play along to my favorite songs. Core features like this should be rock solid before new “features” like Spark AI are introduced.

Best guitar amp app on the market! I love it!

It’s a great idea but a lot just doesn’t work. Bluetooth streaming is spotty at best, I’m yet to get the “Smart Jam” to work (app just crashes). Chord identification usually says “something went wrong”. Good thing you can use the hardware without the app.
