Invisible spyware?

They won’t let you do a speed test on a browser, you have to download an app. Who on earth, will spend money to build an app, so users can have access to the app, for free? Smartspeed.net is better, much better and much more accurate and quicker, because there are less invisible stuff running at the background

In app speed is 10x less than web

I have gigabit internet. In app measured speed is 10 to 12 times less vs the web. I freaked out when my macbook was showing 850mb down and the app on my iphone 16 pro max showed less than a 100. So after testing your own site through my phone’s browser, i was also getting 500-800mb down while around 50-80 mb on the app. WHY is your app slowing down speeds 10x times???

Worked great until after October 2024.

For about a couple of months the app and co-companion Down detector have been extremely difficult to reach to confirm the status of the network resources. Just to report a problem with the network took me recently 5 minutes just to check the status and give feedback. Issues started right around Halloween after getting a system update.
