Spillt: Recipe & Meal Plan App

I’m always trying out new apps and often find they don’t fulfil my needs, get bored and never use them again. I love this app as it’s intuitive, makes cataloguing my recipes easy in one place. Can’t praise it enough. Well done guys. Not only have I saved all my recipes fro bookmarks and URLs with my own personal notes to remind me of my changes, I’ve taken the time to upload recipes from books I use regularly in the same way. Ideally, a great addition would be text recognition for ingredients so you don’t have to type them out. I just add instructions as images so that’s nice and easy but could use the same text Recognition for this section too if you would rather than them step by step instead of a single image from a book. Not a criticism though as it works great for me!

My phone was clogged up with pages of saved recipe bookmarks, and then I discovered this app! It’s absolutely fantastic. Such a simple but clever idea. I love how you can save recipes directly from the internet without having to go into the app. I also love how you can submit thumbnail images to be reviewed if, for whatever reason, they don’t automatically save. AND I love that it takes you to the original recipe on the internet.

Really enjoying this app so far! Saving recipes I see on Instagram, blogs etc and categorising them to come back to later is useful and fun. Suggestion: would be great if we can choose/change the cover photo of recipes we import as the chosen image isn’t always the best or is zoomed in on a wall!

Such a bloomin good idea for an app! So handy to have all my recipes in one place with the credits still going to the original author! My only criticisms - I get a lot of recipes in the feed in a different language from different countries. Would be handy to have a filter option to be able to choose the location? When searching for recipes online I search for UK so the measurements and ingredients are what I can work with. Might be handy for vice versa too. Instagram posts - when using the search function or scrolling through the home page there’s so many good looking recipes but if they’re saved from Instagram you can’t view or save them without logging in to Instagram each time. I just scroll past them now as I don’t want to log in each time. Aside from that it’s a great app and I gets loads of meal inspiration 🤩

I thought this was going to import the recipe in some way but it must seems like a glorified bookmark manager? The first recipe I imported just seemed to open up the website within the app, adverts, links and all. What if the website removes the recipe? It will then be lost?

Just downloaded the app and tried to upload my first internet link. But it just hangs until I close down the app. Very frustrating. Have emailed support.

Great to be able to save recipes from the web and from Insta - features work well and I’m not sure why the other reviewer complained they couldn’t 🤷🏻‍♀️

Can’t actually add anything from the internet. Would have thought this was pretty basic functionality to add before launching the app, basically unusable without this. Design is cute etc though

This app would be near perfect if only they added an option to sort by tags in addition to collections. This is especially important to me since I cook seasonally. Instead of having to add one recipe to multiple relevant collections, I would love to be able to filter recipes from one collection by “fall - pasta - one pot” or something like that. Also, I think it’s necessary to be able to manually input some recipes added from links online for sites whose format is difficult to parse. It has been impossible for me to import recipes from some sites. Other than that I love the app!
