Stage Traxx 3

Superb App if you’re playing backing tracks. After being PC based for over 25 years our band made the move to Stage Traxx and iPad. It’s a Lot of work to set it up but it’s well worth the effort. Peter (the developer) clearly knows what is required for a live performance and is outstanding in his feedback if you have a problem understanding how the App works. I love the fact that it is a one off purchase. We’re a hobby band and could not commit to an ongoing, often variable (always increasing) payment. The App is intuitive. The manual covers the topics well but the forums and chats fill out the information required. Like all systems though you have to know the right question to ask or go into the iOS iPad Settings because you didn’t have the “Allow”tab on. These issues are easily overcome with the support network. The App was selected by our group (midi commands excepting) largely because we have always had (on PC) an arrangement view. This function is provided for via Regions in the App. It was disappointing to find that while that feature works well on the master, when you are holding a session the slave units don’t show the colour coded Regions view. But given the complexity of the functionality of Regions, in that you can loop, I’m not surprised it’s caused some serious programming issues. A workaround via the text editor can provide a count in where necessary, but Really looking forward to Stage Traxx 4 where Peter intends to raise the bar on this Apps capability and allow slave units to see the Regions. Peter should be applauded for his work. If you’re in any doubt about getting the App, just get it and roll your sleeves up for the effort involved. But once it’s done it’s done. If you’re also questioning how often you’ll use it or if it’s worth the work the Key Word feature means you can easily select songs and create playlists suitable for anytime you’re playing with friends and by inserting chords into the song any level player can follow along. Great for a jam. In summary buy it now and I hope Peter benefits from all his good work.

This really is an awesome app, easy to set up, intuitive and stable.

Love this app. We use it for live shows as a multitrack player, lyric scroller and everybody can see exactly what is happening. Just spend a bit of time setting things up and it’s a breeze. Well done Peter.

We use StageTraxx for performing. The queueing is great, playlists and being able to change key (chords) on the fly are great features. We use the host & join sessions and it’s perfect for our needs (after years of searching for something just like this).

Took a chance on this app as it was fairly new but I have to say Peter Dikant is a genius, love everything about the app and would highly recommend it. I use it in a live band situation and we have 3 iPads linked for backing tracks, lyrics and cues. We love it and it works seamlessly. Awesome job Peter. Keep up the great work.

ST3 is a perfect tool for on stage performances, and its also fantastic for parties and practicing musicians giving you simple, reliable and useful interface thats a pleasure to interact with. It displays lyrics and chords and has so many more features, but its your choice how simple or complicated you want to run. I strongly recommend it to logical thinkers and people that hate wasting time. The support is fantastic and the price is very reasonable for what you get. I am sooo! happy i discovered ST3 it has definitely changed my musical career for the better.
