Unusable since update

Vegangel on

Have had to give up on Stuff since the recent update. My iPad just grinds to a halt. A pretty app is well and good, but not at the expense of usability.

What’s up with Stuff these days

Since the new update the new format is rubbish, the two leading stories are a walkway in Auckland and sausages in the mailbox 🤦🏽‍♂️

Giving up

Now we have to sign up. I think that’s the final straw for me. No one wants this

Have to log in to read a article. And tye log in page takes you out of the app and tyen gets stuck on loading page. Al Jazeera news app doesn’t require this!

Hate this latest update

Well I didn’t think it could get any worse until this new login to your account was introduced. Didn’t mind and managed to for 1 WHOLE DAY!!!!!!! Now it just says authenticating and redirecting - goes nowhere. I’ve just downloaded one news because at least I can read it albeit you can’t swipe right but compared to stuff now who cares.

It’s a shocker….most of the time you can’t access it because of a problem and then they have the check to try and screw more money out of us by “blocking” content

Don’t waste your time

Always the eternal optimist and despite the continuing catastrophe this app has been since its “upgrade” earlier this year, I thought it fair to at least give it one more go. My advice? Don’t bother. It remains one of the clunkiest online news media apps you’ll find, worldwide - and now, with more and more of it’s content paywalled.

Your new password system is awful

I’m needing to sign in again and again to read every article. Even paywall sites make that process easier than your amateur effort.

Rubbish

Second edit I see that you now have to sign up to a free account to read many stories. Why on earth would you require a free account? Is it so you can sell my private data etc to third parties? No thanks. Not ever going to happen Edit Tried this app again to see if things had improved. It seems not. It seems that many articles only show the first couple of paragraphs, then the article fades out and stops. Is it now a requirement to sign up/pay to see all the story or is this yet another bug? And I am not talking about the content that is sometimes behind a paywall. The new update has made it harder/slower to navigate between sections, slower to read articles, freezes, etc. Did anyone actually beta test this???? Given the often poor quality and selection of news articles, the increasing amount of opinion pieces and advertising and now this update, it seems stuff is trying very hard to drive visitors away from the app.

Basically a tabloid

More and more articles paywalled, have to have an account now, and their bias reeks. Turned from reputable to trash.
