I’ve tried them all. TickTick. Things 3. Todoist. Yadda yadda. None has worked for my brain quite like this. It’s got Apple calendar integration, calendar view, timeline, live activities, widgets, multilevel sub-task scheduling (and subtask organization) etc. The plan subtasks function is brilliant as well. it’s what I wish Reminders could do. On top of that, it LOOKS like native Apple software. Great stuff.
SuperPlanner gets five stars from me. It is almost everything that I need and want in a calendar/task manager. Its lists work like projects in Things. The time management is second to none, because live activity timers just make sense. It’s an aesthetically beautiful app to boot. The the way that activities and tasks work is perfect. Activities should be scheduled like events as they take up a time block, and you can plan what you’d like to do in that time block via tasks. It’s a wonderful system. However— The biggest missing feature is the lack of reminders integration. Apple’s Reminders app is very powerful after its most recent update. There’s a lot you can do with it, but you can’t bring tasks from Reminders to SuperPlanner without copying them over manually. It’s tedious. & if you’re like me and have been using Reminders for years, that’s a lot of tasks to bring over, hopefully with no mistakes. That being said, the task manager within SuperPlanner is great, though it lacks a tagging system and URL fields in tasks (for both web & URL schemes). These are the reasons that I don’t use SuperPlanner as my primary task/calendar manager. It doesn’t fit my workflow, even though I desperately wish it did. I keep checking back for updates and have already purchased the lifetime subscription. I’m hoping it’s just a matter of time, as I know that other people have asked for Reminders integration as well. Tagging and URL support would be awesome, as well. Honestly after writing this review, I’m still considering changing my workflow to accommodate SuperPlanner because it’s just that good (but not quite perfect IMO). That’s why SuperPlanner has earned five stars from me, despite its current shortcomings, it’s still a heck of a great app.
maybe im dumb but this app seems to have the bare minimum capabilities to call itself a planner and nothing else. appreciate the color coding though.
SuperPlanner is the perfect app to help keep task lists/to-do lists organized. I don't find it easy to manage task lists in my Notes app, in a physical notebook, or on my calendar. Super Planner gives me the ability to view my tasks as a list, scheduled on my calendar, or see my tasks both ways/side by side. Give it a try! I paid for the upgraded verison of this app but used the free version for weeks before committing to the paid version. The free version is very valuable, easy, and fun to use!
You have to dig into this to really appreciate the feature set. The more I use the more I like. Looking forward to the growth of this app. Well done.
Straightforward interface that does everything it needs to. It might be nice if you could see the subtasks from calendar view, and if you could change the notification sound. A web client might be nice as well so you could view your tasks on non-macs, but I understand it’s built on iCloud.
I’ve tried so many that I’ve lost count. This is the only planner app I’ve found that is simple and easy to use, while having a nice format. I’m surprised that this app isn’t as popular as the other ones. Definitely give this app a try!
I absolutely love this app! It has everything I need to stay organized and on top of my schedule. The user interface is intuitive and easy to use, with a lot of options for personalization.
One of the few remaining skeumorphic app icons left on the App Store… please don’t change it!
