Perfect meat all the time. Everyone can have a choice of how they like their meat. This is easy and accurate!

I ordered four of the MeatStick X devices, two charging stands and the WiFi bridge. One of the sticks (green one) arrived defective—it would not charge. One of the charging stands would not do anything but show a green LED. The WiFi extender has a limit of 20 characters on the WiFi password so I had to set up another network for it. The first time I tried to use the product (red stick) the app told me the battery needed charging even though I had put a full charge on it two days before and stored it in the product pouch. Nothing seems to work. I have requested a refund.

I have zero confidence my expensive meatsticks will work when I need them. The software is bloated and a complete disaster. Do not buy anything from this company. And if your stuff is working for the love of God, don’t let it update!!!!

The MeatStick was a very good investment. The only downside was getting everything hooked up once it was all hooked up. It worked like a charm.

Very pricey sensors and are fairly useless without the range extension. Interface is buggy and complicated.

App needs work. Would definitely suggest a ‘stick analysis/firmware update’ section. Would be helpful to be able to check each stick individually to see if its firmware needs updating or to see if any problems are detected. I have two minis that ised to work perfectly but now appear to start and then disconnect for no apparent reason. The ‘troubleshooting’ section seems to do nothing.

This product mainly only works for checking the temps if you’re standing right next to your grill and don’t want to open in, like in the case of a smoker. It disconnects as soon as you walk away and good luck making the extender/bridge work correctly. You’ll spend more time updating and messing with the connection, and it still needs to be extremely close to function. Sorry if you bought it already but don’t waste your time trying to make it work as advertised.

Core product works decently but even with the wifi extender can regularly lose connection which is somewhat expected but the recovery process is inane. Firmware update reminders occur every time the app is opened but nothing seems to happen when you tell it to update. Recovering from a lost connection can often involve pulling the thermometer out of the meat, which can severely disrupt most cooking. I wanted to love this because of the price point. Think I got what I paid for though and will be trying a pricier competitor with better app reviews.

Hard to tell which stick is which if you have more than one. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. Hard to tell which extender is which, hence the title of this review.

Have been trying to use these for a year or more. They paired fine with the device at first, but when cooking, battery life dies within an hour. Anything I’m doing that I need a temp probe on takes more than an hour. This battery life issue alone would be enough to throw it away. But I keep trying. Charge fully, sticks don’t always show up on the app. Can’t remove them from the app and re add them unless they will pair. Very basic usability failures abound.
