Bought a subscription in the app. Until now has worked fine but latest issue will not load and received no response to multiple requests for support. I’m now paying an annual subscription for a magazine I cannot read.
The app will only allow me to download two issues for reading offline. It’s not possible to download more than this. I’ve tried uninstalling, reinstalling logging out and in etc. No fix. Less than impressive.
Access with WiFi is good but I still can’t download issues for offline reading.
I get a buzz whenever the new New York Review of Books appears. I know that I will have pleasant evenings of reading ahead. There’s nothing quite like it. The London Review of Books comes close. But that’s a semester of study. The NYRB is a whole academic year of knowledge and laughter.
The app’s offline mode blocks access to already cached content on my ipad, rendering the app completely useless right when I need it, that is, when I am offline or travelling. I can’t for the life of me understand the decision to do this. I can only suspect it is a bug (that has been there for nearly a year now). Obviously the content is exceptional, and it is lovely to read the high-def pdf and text versions - when they work.
The search engine is just pathetic !!!! You have to guess the title of the review - wake up we search by the title of the book or its author (s) - really come on how can anyone under 40 tolerate this - dont worry I’m 61 i keep all back issues in a pile ( thats my search engine) but I’m not representative - young people want it now or bankruptcy
The app requires much more functionality
Cannot log into my account via the app, despite changing my subscription to fully digital. Front covers appear has low resolution images. I would love to support a magazine like this but they need to get up to speed on their digital offerings.
Not able to download for reading when off line
