The Way Home: Pixel Roguelike

I ABSOLUTELY ENJOYED PLAYING THROUGH THIS GAME! :D My personal Pros n Cons for newbies: Pros - Unique gameplay - Interesting characters - intriguing story & lore - moderate amount of reading for lore which only fills less than a page. - Fascinating upgrading system, buildings, materials - Good pacing in story and fighting areas - Unique bosses - You don’t have to pay to play the full game. (Though you’ll have to pay for ads as stated in the cons) Cons - There could be more chapters or a part 2 :D - You have to watch ads to get bridge pieces to travel to new islands. (At least they’re generous with this option) - It doesn’t take too long to build almost every building and get every upgrade on the first island. Overall, this is a GREAT chill game you can play using one finger! I’d recommend playing it!

Why do i have to watch nine ads before i could get enough leaves to get a deck!!! Its so stupid design

Don’t be put off by the $10 price point after the first island; there is more than enough quality content to make it well worth it. There were 0 bugs, it was extremely polished, and overall, better than a lot of the rogue-like games on PC. I couldn’t more highly recommend.

Delightful game, I only wish it was longer so I could keep playing

To be simple this game is fun, it does take a lot of time spent on adds to complete but that’s the price to pay for a fun experience.

The learning curve is amazing

Edit: 18th October, the latest update broke the island unlocking feature. Ad timers don’t progress, and ad interfaces are non interactive. Attempting to fix this by closing the app, it no longer loads, opting to be a single black screen. Wow.. okay don’t usually review mobile games, because they all generally fall into the same copy paste schemes. Which says a lot if I’m giving this one a review. This game is fantastic. It doesn’t constantly point you in a direction for the first hour of game play, I haven’t had a single advert, but more importantly, the gameplay is VERY fun, it’s got a fun rogue lite dungeon, with skills equipment, and I’ve barely played the game for more than two runs, and I REALLY enjoying it. You gather materials for building stuff at your base for upgrades etc. I enjoy the non existent hand holding, and the simplified touch screen mechanics for battle and resource gathering. It’s cute and I love the dialogue for the characters, especially the player character. WOULD RECOMMEND.

It’s a fun and addictive game however the $10.99 is a bit to much just to remove adds, you should add a bit more for those people who have bought the free adds. Other then that it’s a fun game it feels good beating bosses due to them being harder then the easier mobs.

Hi Concode dev team, Seldom do I write a review for a game, but this game deserves it. Straight from the very beginning I was hooked. Everything is top-notch: Gameplay, controls, skills, upgrades, story, soundtracks and last but not least the pixel art! A lot of the time I thought: ‘The game should be a little more challenging.’ So I’m really stoked that there is a hard mode once you finish the story on normal mode. To be honest, It would be awesome if the grind to finish the story took longer. But that’s purely because I love to grind these kind of games. Next mission is to finish the story on hard mode. Thanks again for this great game!
