Todo - Task List Organizer

I’ve been using this App for my personal organisation for a long time and always found it really useful. Unfortunately, I do now have to pay to get some of the useful features like reminders and repeating tasks. I tried a number of other apps but none of them are as flexible and have as many good features. It’s easy to tag tasks and create different lists to slice and dice things. You can also add notes and attachments. The additional reminders could be improved by being as they used to be allowing you to set a specific date and time before the due/start date rather than the current 1 day, 1 week etc.

No way out of this as can’t look at you tasks etc. Until after you’ve gone through it. Not a good experience and disappointing way to keep customers.

This was once a great app but I’ve stopped using it as the latest changes made it too clunky and difficult to use. I now use Apple’s reminder app instead. It’s a shame as a really liked this app.

I was a happy user of this app for 8+ years. Then it suddenly forced me to upgrade and I’ve just lost my entire list. I had downloaded my life onto that list and now i am completely screwed.

update June 2021: I contacted support about upgrading my subscription but despite my sending a second reminder they couldn’t even be bother to reply. A shame, especially when they charge as much as other more established products. No way to grow a business!! My previous feedback : Since I wrote the review below 5 months ago the annual cost has gone up to over £29! No longer can you keep your own data and use iCloud to backup data and sync between devices. You must subscribe to a Todo cloud service that costs £14.99/year after the introductory offer is over. The layout of the new app isn’t as logical nor look as good as the old version and the UI looks characterless. I wish I hadn’t updated but clicked on ‘update’ by mistake. It was an expensive mistake for me in cost, functionality and efficiency. I wish it were possible to downgrade back to 8.2.8

After having this app for many years to organise my life and recommending it to others I find it very disappointing that I now have to pay a subscription even if I want to put in a second reminder for a task. As I only use this app at what must be it’s basic functions I think it’s time for me to look for a basic planner which I will get for free rather than paying for it in the first place and then having to pay a prescription and I urge others to do the same.

I am so disappointed. I have been using this app for years. I use it for shopping lists, birthday reminders, appointments, in fact everything. I now find that I have to pay a subscription for things I have always used in the past, in particular, repeat events. It appears that loyalty to this product is worth nothing, all that matters is money. Well, I for one am not paying. Major changes like this, warrant a different new app, instead of penalising existing users. Shame on you.

I’ve been using TODo since version 1 I’ve been upset every time they changed the format, but got used to the new facilities. However this unexpected forced upgrade to Cloud left me fuming, not least because it didn’t work and I lost everything..... or so I thought. Having received an automatic email backup (that I couldn’t use as I don’t have iTunes), I scoured their thorough Help files and then emailed customer service... Not only did they personally upload my backup to the new system, but they also gave me the free 1yr upgrade, and all in 2 days over a weekend! Now, I’m not saying I like the new layout, but with service like that, ToDo app is worth using 😁

After getting over the sticker shock of having to pay a subscription for this app, I decided to bite the bullet and give it a go....I use this app multiple times a day. But I’m disappointed with this (forced) update as, even though it looks “pretty,” some functionality has disappeared. It’s now hard to tell which tasks are projects/checklists, location-based alerts don’t work at all, user default task settings don’t work and tasks only stay in their cloud for a maximum of two weeks (as opposed to a year, previously). All of these things worked fine in the previous version. Now I could just give this feedback to the developer....I did...with no response. The previous version went undeveloped for ages...and I fear it will happen to this one. Appigo has until my trial finishes to fix issues and restore functionality before I up sticks to a more proactive, customer friendly developer.

If you’re going to completely change the business model for the app, make it a different app. Don’t foist it upon users who are perfectly happy with the way the existing app works. I for one will not be upgrading to v10 as I have no need to sync across devices. I also do not wish to store my data in the cloud or pay a subscription fee to continue using the software (which I have already paid for). This has been a great app up to now (and possibly the new version is even better) but the sneaky way this new business model is being forced on users is underhand. Poor show Appigo. Update: as other reviewers have noted, the release of iOS 13 brings a much improved Reminders app and I have now switched over to that. In the main, it does everything ToDo 8 does, without me having to put my data in the cloud or have a subscription.
