Topo Maps+

Deleted! Will be more selective for something better before I pay anything!

After more than a year of use I still don’t understand what is my base map, an overlay, a downloaded map, etc. Still, its a great app

I'm a wilderness, off trail, snow shoeing, winter camping sportsman. Nothing compares to a hike/campout in blanketed snow backcountry. Topo Maps+ is my 'exclusive' GPS navigation tool used in conjunction with a magnetic compass and Topo Map+ printed, laminated maps. Topo seamlessly syncs data via bluetooth when out of cell and wifi range between my iPhone 15, Ultra 2 watch, and iPad 6 mini. My navigation system consists of the Apple Watch Ultra 2 for on the go GPS in real time to mark way points and log routes. I cross reference and verify GPS data using my compass and printed Topo Maps+ maps. I then later edit my routes with the Topo Map+ free hand route creation and editing tool feature on my iPad using a stylist pen. I'm constantly updating and improving my routes, I've already saved $$$ printing my own Topo+ maps. Survival in harsh winter environments depends on knowledge, skill, training, and the proper equipment. As an experienced Topo Maps+ user, I 100% recommend this app! I mostly use the US Forest Service map with/without shading overlay, and the Satellite map.

Great app for hiking but why not allow us to change the icon based on activity?

Do a lot of off grid hiking in Washington, on and near the pacific crest trail. Everything is spot on for all the uses I get from this mapping system.

I have been a map person for much of my 75 years but now simply use Topo Maps +. I like going back and forth from the Forest Service map to the satellite. I find it also worth the extra money for the land ownership feature. I’ve tried other apps in the past but don’t need to anymore.

I have had this app for several years, and was using it regularly and it was a good and very usable app. Until a few weeks ago, when I did an update, now it’s no longer usable. Much of the map information is no longer available. There are updates almost on an every other day basis this point but every time I open it after an upgrade it is worse than it was before.

I switched over to this app as an alternative to one I didn’t feel was worth paying for anymore. Happy to report that it’s been great so far and I don’t miss the old one. I wanted to import tracks I had recorded previously and found that some had gotten split up in the process. I replied to one of many informational emails the developer sends out and received a reply within an hour! A solution was found the next day and I was notified an update would be sent out within a week. It came out the day after (so two days after I had emailed them) and Stephen (founder) was kind enough to notify me. It worked! All my tracks imported correctly. Customer service is 10/10. Since I’ve downloaded the app there have been several updates which to me is a good sign that the developer is always working to improve their product. Happy that I could contribute to one and hopefully it helped someone else with the same issue. Looking forward to continuing to see this app grow. It has become a valuable tool for me on all my hikes so far.

Topo Maps+ are one of those Best Tools! Colorado Trail Hiking is a favorite hobby! Topo Maps are a critical tool to safely navigate the trails and have fun! Topo Maps+ has been instrumental in making the most of that hobby, Much Thanks Y’all!! -A.G.

With every update the free version users have more and more features taken away. The hill shade usgs topo maps I used to have are gone. I even paid for a 1 year upgrade to the high-definition maps soon after getting the app. Supposedly, I was able to KEEP every map tile I downloaded during that time, even after my subscription had expired. Apparently not!
