Great app with lots of potential
I’ve been looking for an app like this for a while. I like the idea of just entering itineraries manually, rather than uploading them to some company’s servers for automation.
The app itself has a really nice user interface that’s very simplistic and easy to navigate. The overview of the trip makes it easy to locate the information needed. It almost looks like a native iOS app, which I like. Entering information is easy and the support of different time zones is very welcome. It’s apparent that the app is still in its early stage but it’s already very useful as it is. And I think the developers could make this one of the best of its kind.
The predefined trips are of no use, at least to me. I think most people would prefer their own itineraries, and the app itself has no useful information like one would find at TripAdvisor, etc.
What I would like to see in future updates:
Overview needs to show the time of arrival or end of activity in the overview. That would make it easier to see how much time is available between flights, or between events.
It would be nice with more predefined activities, like ‘Sports’ and maybe even subcategories like ‘Soccer’, ‘Basketball’, etc.
Localization would be nice ie. Danish language in my case.
For trains and buses, there needs to be a text field for numbers, like the one for ‘Company’ which will show in the overview.
Dark mode
Bug: for some reason, the iOS keyboard shortcut ‘double tap space bar to punctuate’ doesn’t work in this app.
Bug: I set the time zone of the event to ‘Minneapolis - GMT -5’ but it kept changing it back to ‘Austin - GMT -5’ - Same time zone, but I’m going to Minnesota not Texas, so it’s just a small annoyance.
Lastly; I need to address the subscription service. I do not like it. Not in this app, or any other app asides from newspaper apps.
I would probably pay 10-15 Euros as a one-time purchase. In a year or so when a major update is ready, charge a small fee for the upgrade.
At the moment the premium features are, at best, superfluous:
Cloud functionality could be handled by iCloud instead of Tripsy Cloud.
Predefined trips are not particularly useful
Push notifications are free in most, if not all, apps from large airlines.
share trip; could be useful for some.
What it is?
Perhaps I missed something... so I enter hotel and flight info manually. The app automates nothing and provides no integration at all. It’s basically just a notebook... which is already included in iOS with free synchronisation.
The best
The best travel app. The other one works but this one is magic
Too much going on
This app needs to be cleaner for me, but it’s still better than Wanderlog, which is everything everywhere, Wanderlog is basically the equivalent of messy piles of paper on your desk and no, you really don’t know where anything is, it’s just a stress inducing guessing game, not an organized mess, just a mess. I prefer TripIt because it files things neatly under each day. With a clear, simple and clean scroll through of each day, not pictures, adds, and stuff all over the place. Notes, photos, documents, etc., can be added right underneath the activity. It also uploads the info from my email more accurately.
Love it but needs features
I hope you can add a feature to use hashtags for better organization and customization, as well as the ability to edit existing categories and add new ones.
Pricey and useless
Can’t even use most of the apps features without paying for get this… another subscription model which again is a joke.
Also you can literally use the notes app or any other note app which does the same thing for free without a subscription.
Pretty Good App Except For Flight Tracking
I really like how this app allows me to put all of my travel arrangements in one place and even save related documents with the activities the documents relate to.
I do take issue with how poorly this app handles delayed flights or changes to an existing itinerary. I had one flight that was delayed by hours and it never even seemed to notice (I did contact support about that and never received a reply). I have another flight where the same thing happened and, again, there are issues getting the updated information into Tripsy. This time around it eventually updated to show the delay but I had no way of updating the new connecting flight.
I think there is utility in the app but I want potential users to be aware that it is not very good at tracking flights if that is an important element of functionality.
Love it but needs features
Best planning app! I'm using it to plan my trip to Japan in November, and I hope that we can get these features before my trip.
I'd love to filter or reorder by distance from my current location or by city area. Customizing names, colors, and icons of each category per trip, adding emojis, changing the color and style of pins on maps, and creating my own customizable categories would be great. It also needs an option to stick to either Apple or Google Maps for iOS users who prefer Google Maps.
Amazing app
This app truly made planning a multi country vacation a breeze and organized thanks guys
Thumbs up
Exactly what I needed to organize and share trip itineraries. Easy to import and auto populate reservations.
