Absolutely useless app. You have to reconnect the camera every time you use the app and the connection process is painful. I am still trying to figure out any benefits of it.

App not user friendly, but for those tech savvy should have no problem understanding it. Device itself works great as advertised, as a matter of fact it’s a true AI that works very well. At night in rain, it will struggle with lane assist.

I have the AI assist 4k dashcam. Installing it on windshield was ready however the dashcam would NOT CONNECT to my phone. App was downloaded and followed instructions as prompted and would always time out due to device being off or out of range. I’m legit holding my phone in front of the dashcam and reconnected various occasions and still keeps failing. I’m fed up with this and bought it for a road trip I have tomorrow….really disappointed in this product since it was $120+ ……

When I first bought this dash cam, the app was amazing. Loved having easy access to the footage for any reason. Now, the app doesn’t work. I’ve reset my phone, deleted the app and re-installed it, completely reset my dash cam, deleted the WiFi and logged onto it again, nothing has worked. I receive the same error, “dash cam is out of range or not connected to the WiFi”. Neither are true, I’m right next to my dash cam and the WiFi is connected. What gives!

The app is pure trash. It doesn’t work and constantly crashes. It doesn’t connect to the camera, if it magically does the app crashes the moment you touch the screen. Camera takes good pictures & video though. It would be great if I could access them.

I first want to say that the idea of Type-s getting into the already existing and over crowded space that is Dash Cams and all ADS systems is no coincidence but to have both a no-functional application that will force quit at random, the QR ability doesn’t work or will let me adjust the focus or auto-focus. The application and Camera U.I. Isn’t bad, but as many people have mentioned and said before….this application, Firmware, U.I. and overall functionality of both the application and software has to better reflecting to all other Brands. You guys have a good product and there is nothing short of amazing features and software updates that can place Type-s in a better position than a lot other brand / products in the same place. Currently the camera will let me add the WiFi manually but I have to do each time my vehicles starts. Because of this I am not able to download Videos or photos. The SD card became unavailable or unusable do the cameras read and write errors. This is my second attempt to connect and download the firmware and the app will not upload or let you re-try within the application. This will also break the software and U.I. of the camera (temporarily disabled). Once the Application and Camera synchronization via WiFi but this too is temporary, until the power is restored. Than it will allow the U.I. will work again, but temporary. The biggest game changer is the A.I. ADS feature set. This can benefit a lot of drivers both new and well seasoned drivers as well. In fact this is the only Camera on market (outside of a few brands with similar features) but Type-s can really set themselves apart with better hardware and software features that can beat any other device that offers these features and become a flagship brand. Keep in mind, This company has been around since the late nineties and went ghost for many years. Instead of being the same company that has some products that in line to overpriced products made with the same or similar hardware / software is not the way to go. When you try to be everything for everyone, everyone will not take your products seriously. This has happened in the past all though out the industry. It’s time to do better. Both on R&D and customer to brand check-in’s. As someone who has worked in this space I seen before and the common theme is to let the product and service support die off and a new product is released, and most importantly isn’t always the best solution of course. When you open the app, and try to download, it turns off the camera so you can get into the gallery. But when you are in the gallery you can maybe watch the video for 15 seconds before it starts recording again and it kicks you out. You can’t even download it. It’s such a hassle to use this app and makes the DashCam almost useless.

The camera and all its features are excellent. However, it is impossible to connect thru app. If you want to use it and download content manually late, than this is what you’ll get.

I’m using this app because navigating the camera’s built-in settings is difficult. However, whenever I try to use the app to transfer media from the camera, it never works.

I did all the steps and still saying the capara is off or out of range. I email the factory but if I don’t get a respond will return it to Costco
