I rent apartments with airbnb in Mauritius and i use the ultralock on all the apartments with great ease of no key problems anymore and all the convenience this great lock brings for the clients. Mauritius is far away a small island in the indian ocean, and i had at the beginning 4 years ago some problems with the latch which broke BUT immediately there was sent for free a replacement to me. The app crashes when trying to set up smart light switch. Even downloaded the app on a different phone and it still crashes. The app hasn't been updated in over a month and I cant even use my light switch as intended.

I have nine Latch 5 NFC locks. The app is very buggy and locks unreliable. I’ve not been able to add users remotely to any of them. I have very strong WiFi signal at each lock. They often disconnect from the WiFi and 8 times out of 10 I can’t add users while standing in front of the lock. I’ll be seeing if there are any options for returning them all. I didn’t go with August locks because of the short battery life but wishing I had now.

Sometimes the lock doesn’t respond well.

I’ve been using this lock on a second home with no issues controlling who enters. It’s easy to install and the app works well.

The app no longer lets you change the Wi-Fi the U-Bolt lock is connected to without resetting it, making the whole process much more cumbersome. It would be nice to have an option to simply change the Wi-Fi the lock’s connected to.

App has gotten better and now my only complaint might be that it could use some enhanced locking features. In particular the “auto lock” needs a much longer timeout setting, but what I would really like to see is the ability to set a time whereby it is always locked, or at least a warning e.g. “it’s your bedtime 10:00PM and the door is unlocked.” Better to be able to set a time and have it done automatically, then notify if locking fails. My other complaint is not with the app—instead this (and every) automaticatic lock requires an extraordinary amount of precision in its installation lest it stick and fail/jam. There needs to be some greater tolerance between deadbolt and latch so that temperature and humidity variances that can cause slight misalignments are accounted for. A slightly smaller diameter deadbolt? A larger opening to the latch? Something…

Three days of having, I’m happy with purchase so far.
