Read before buying: Useless as a short term rental lock
I have nine Latch 5 NFC locks. The app is very buggy and locks unreliable. I’ve not been able to add users remotely to any of them. I have very strong WiFi signal at each lock. They often disconnect from the WiFi and 8 times out of 10 I can’t add users while standing in front of the lock. Eveready lithium batteries died in 6-weeks. I’ll be seeing if there are any options for returning them all. I didn’t go with August locks because of the short battery life but wishing I had now.
Fingerprint Locks
Work great so far. Curious on how long batteries will last. But seems to work great. I’ve install 9 on house so far.
Easy to use and easy to install
Love it.
Almost perfect
The app functionality works great. The ability to add users and see the log of who accessed the lock is awesome. I’ve had no trouble locking or unlocking the door remotely. My only gripe is that the fingerprint recognition is spotty. I’ll recalibrate it and update this review if I’m able to get better results. Overall it’s still the best smart lock I’ve used out of the 4 I’ve tried.
