Bias Against Players that refuse to pay

I am about to give up on this game. It is so biased it isn’t funny anymore. In Arena mode 95% of my so called evenly matched opponents are easily 2X my levels at all 3 of my sacrificial Wolf Marines. I don’t mind fighting a stronger opponent, just not every battle. Any battles in the other scenarios get old watching the computer troops gaining strength and more powerful EVERY times level is fought for. If you cannot win 1st or 2nd attempt you are trapped forever fighting stronger and stronger enemies. Just another pay to win no skill or strategy war game.

They basically cheat

DMCD3 on

The percentages are garbage. Pay attention to what should be killing blows vs the percentage printed. This game is not truthful. To prove the disingenuous nature of the game, they change the perspective at the same moment they give attack and damage results. Making it impossible to see what they were.

Phenomenal for new fans

Being new to Warhammer myself, this is a great way to start things out.

Fun game

Good game but severely hampered

This game would be so much better if I could play it whenever I wanted. This game requires a constant internet connection to play, which keeps me from playing on long trips or flights, where an internet connection is not the best. I wish I could just pay for the whole game download it one time. It is especially annoying since I know that is how this game is sold on other platforms like PlayStation. As for the game itself, I really enjoy the combination of card play and XCOM like game play. The progression and 40k story is enjoyable as you unlock new classes and characters. I would give it 5 stars if not for what I said above.

Last update broke the game

Custom Mode DLC?

There should be a DLC in which you can create your own scenarios in a certain selection of maps. We should be able to use all factions featured in the campaign. I know gamers absolutely love that stuff and spend for it.

The game is fine, until you reach the absurdly unwinnable mission in round 4. I know this is meant to be a pay to play game at heart, but even with steady purchases of upgraded weapons and gear along the way, the scenario is simply impossible. I’m disappointed at the amateur attempt to compel players to spend significant $$ to buy their way out by elevating the difficulty tremendously at such an arbitrary point. Why not be honest, make the first few levels free to play as a way to build legitimate interest in the game overall, and then introduce a paywall for people who enjoy the premise, and choose to go further? The suddenly unbalanced scenario ends up looking like a badly designed game, rather than a typical freemium model in action. I wouldn’t spend additional $$ now, because obviously the developer could decide to create another illogically difficult mission that is in actuality a poorly rendered paywall at any future moment. And if customers are foolish enough to pay once - then surely the devs will expect them to be foolish enough to pay again (and again…). Finally, unless this is one of those instances of a maker pulling a fast switch on everyone after a game receives official endorsement as a way to juice revenue under the radar, this shouldn’t be an Editor’s Choice title. I’d frankly like my money back now for purchases I was previously happy to make along the way, because in retrospect, they were dishonest about the basic model for the game from the beginning.

Horrible Game. Stupid Developers.

This game is over 12 years old. I know because I start playing it 15 years ago. It’s a piece of Garbage because: 1) I spent over $1200 (average $100 per year) on buying improved weapons. 2) The developers allowed themselves to nerf all the good weapons that I bought at an expensive cost. 3) The game started with 3 characters to improve over the past 12 years but last year it introduced a 4th character (Skywarrior) to purchase that is overpowered that it forces everybody to restart purchasing the new character or lose every battle. Conclusion: It’s a Money Trap! You will spend money on improving your character only to see it nerf by the developers!
